Overview
This document describes how to replace the microSD card in the InTouch 9100 timeclock. Exercise care when handling the microSD card to prevent damaging it or its holder.

Required tool
L-shaped security wrench that was supplied with the InTouch 9100 timeclock.
Before you begin: The InTouch 9100 timeclock must be fully powered down before performing this operation.
Power down the timeclock

Before you open the timeclock, collect the data from it using the host application. For more information, see the host application online help.
- Use the security wrench to remove the top screw, and then loosen the security screws on the sides of the timeclock.

- Carefully open the cover.
The following illustrations show both the Ethernet cable
and the power supply unit cable
attached to the main board. Your configuration might differ.

- If your timeclock is plugged into a nearby AC wall outlet, unplug the power supply unit from the outlet. Then remove the power supply unit cable
from the main board. - Loosen and then swivel the strain relief clip that secures the Ethernet cable.

- Push in the top of the Ethernet connector clip and then pull out the cable from the main board.
- Disconnect all of the remaining cables from the timeclock. The following illustration shows the cables that you must disconnect (your configuration might differ).

- With the screen facing down, place the timeclock cover on a flat surface.
- Go to "Replace the microSD card."
Replace the microSD card

You must completely power down the timeclock before replacing the microSD card.
- There is a small arc inscribed on the microSD card. It might be partially covered by a barcode label. Use your fingernail or small screwdriver to grasp the old microSD card and slide it out from the connector.

- With the contacts on the new microSD card facing down, gently push the card into the connector until it fits snugly. Do not apply too much pressure.
- Go to "Next steps."
Next steps
- Depending on your configuration:
- Connect the Ethernet cable to the main board. If you are using Power-over-Ethernet cable, the timeclock turns on.
- Plug the transformer into the external AC outlet
- Plug the transformer into the AC outlet over which the base is mounted.
- Plug in the remaining cables.
- Close the cover of the timeclock enough so that you can view the screen as the timeclock boots up and performs internal diagnostics. When this process is completed, the timeclock displays the time and date (you may have to reset them later).
Note: If the screen does not display the time and date, or the timeclock does not appear to be on, check all of your connections. For more information, see the "Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance" section of the InTouch 9100 Installation Guide. - Adjust the slack in the cables and then tighten the strain relief clip.
- Close the front cover, and use the security wrench to tighten the top screw and the two screws on the sides.
- Access maintenance mode on the timeclock. Reconfigure the IP address and device ID, and then initialize the timeclock. For more information, see the host application system administrator guide and the InTouch 9100 User Guide (the section about initial setup).
