This product was designed to weigh infants that are laying or sitting on the tray. Do not modify the product or use it for anything other than its intended purpose.

    Back to Home Page SET UP INSTRUCTIONS To enter the Options mode, press ON/TARE/OFF to power on the scale. When the display shows “0” press and hold UNIT until “OPt” appears, then release the button. When released, “Aft” will appear on the display indicating the scale is in Options mode. Auto Off Time The scale is designed to power off after a period of inactivity.
  • Page 6 Back to Home Page SET UP INSTRUCTIONS Enabling Unit View with Unit of Measure Locked If the scale is locked per the instructions above, users can still view the alternate weight measuring unit by enabling the “Unit View” option. Enabling the “Unit View” option allows the user to press the UNIT button to briefly display the weight in the alternate weight measuring unit.
  • Page 7 Back to Home Page OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Weighing a Patient 1. Make sure there is nothing on the weighing tray. Press ON/TARE/OFF to turn on the scale. The scale is ready for use when “0” appears on the display. 2. Place the baby on the scale so that its weight is evenly distributed. The scale will begin to display weight information and will lock on the patient’s weight when the stable weight of the patient is determined.

There are no requirements for calibration in the field; users should adhere to their institution’s calibration policies. If required, the scale can be calibrated. A 5kg weight is required for calibration. If the scale is Everlocked into pounds, the calibration procedure will still require use of a 5kg weight.

    Note: If the scale does not return to zero when you remove the object and baby from the tray, press the ON/TARE/OFF button to return the scale to zero. LB/KG Lock (549KL ONLY) The weight measuring unit can be locked to only measure in LB or KG.

    For model 549KL, calibration is performed in either pounds or kilograms. In LB mode, 40 pounds are required for calibration, applied in 10 lb and 20 lb increments. In KG mode, 20 kilograms are required for calibration, applied in 5 kg and 10 kg increments.

    CALIBRATION – 549KG Note: Only scale models with a date code of 4317 or greater can be calibrated. This scale has been factory calibrated, and does not require calibration prior to use. If required, the scale can be calibrated. Calibration is performed using kilograms (KG). 20 kilograms are required for calibration, applied in 5 kg and 10 kg increments.
