NOTE: This procedure will only
program the remote. A hardware
store or locksmith with laser
key cutting abilities must cut
transponder key(s) to start vehicle.
NOTE: One programmed remote (with
new battery) and key that starts the
vehicle must be present to program
new remotes.
NOTE: All remotes for the vehicle
must be present. Remotes not
present during programming
procedure will not start the vehicle.
NOTE: Up to three remotes may
be programmed to the vehicle.
Programming additional remotes may
overwrite previous remotes.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1:
Close all doors, trunk/liftgate, hood,
windows and sunroof (if equipped). Enter
the vehicle through the driver's door and
close it.
STEP 2:
Insert a programmed remote key into the
ignition. Ensure all additional remotes are
within reach.
NOTE: Vehicle allows up to five
seconds per step for Steps 3 through
7. Total programming time for each
remote must not exceed 25 seconds.
STEP 3:
Turn the ignition to the key on, engine off
position. Wait for three seconds.
STEP 4:
Press and hold the lock button on the
remote in the ignition for approximately
one second, then release.

STEP 5:
Within three seconds of releasing the lock
button on the remote, turn the ignition to
the off position.
STEP 6:
Repeat Steps 3, 4 and 5 three more times.
NOTE: During the fourth cycle of
these steps, the door locks should
cycle (lock/unlock), indicating that
the vehicle has successfully entered
programming mode.
STEP 7:
Within three seconds of entering
programming mode, press and hold the
lock button again for one second on the
remote in the ignition and release. The door
locks should cycle (lock/unlock) again,
indicating that the vehicle has successfully
reprogrammed that remote.
STEP 8:
To program any additional remotes, within
five seconds of completing Step 7 press the
lock button on each new remote. The door
locks should cycle (lock/unlock) each time
to indicate successful programming.
STEP 9:
Turn the ignition off and remove the key to
exit programming mode.
STEP 10:
Open windows, exit vehicle, close all doors
and test all functions on each remote. Hold
trunk button down for 5-10 seconds to test
trunk/liftgate release. Ensure that each key
starts the vehicle. If a key does not, repeat
programming process from Step 1.
