    1.4 Variants The high voltage power supplies of the ES61 family are available in diffe- rent variants. The possible combinations depend on the mains voltage, operation and interfaces etc. Reference code with the individual characteristics: ES61 / Article Version Characteristic code Variable Performance Control...

    2.2 Contact protection The site of installation and/or use of the units is outside the control of Eltex, contact protection against inadvertent contact of the bars and of live components by personnel as specified by the employer’s liability insu- rance association may have to be provided (e.g. DGUV V3 in Germany).

    (e.g. metal foil or metal composites) are processed, the release of the high voltage must be disabled (see chapter 3.8 "Use of the Eltex signal cable CS and mains cable KN”, page chapter 4.4 "Releasing the high voltage”, page 37).
  • Page 13 Eltex, the colored markings and the bending radii must be observed when connecting the individual leads (see chapter 3.8 "Use of the Eltex signal cable CS and mains cable KN”, page 27). • Check the power supply, all connected units, the electrical wiring and the high voltage cables at regular intervals for any damage.

    3. Installation and assembly 3.1 Assembly the power supply The unit is prepared for wall mounting. It is attached using the mounting brackets. When mounting the unit, make sure that the operating elements and the connector terminals remain easilyaccessible and that the unit can be checked.

    A cross section of 2.5 mm is required for cable lengths exceeding 0.5 meters. Eltex recommends using the ground cable supplied with the power supply. Ground terminal Insert the ground cable into the side slot of the open terminal until it pro- trudes on the opposite side.

    3.8 Use of the Eltex signal cable CS and mains cable KN When using the CS signal cable or the KN mains cable optionally available from Eltex, the following data, color markings and bending radii should be observed when connecting the individual leads.

    4. Operation In all power supply variants, the operating status of the device is indicated LEDs. Fig. 15: Operating status indicated by illuminated LED 4.1 Startup If all connections and the installation have been carried out correctly, the system is ready for operation and the supply voltage can be switched on. 4.2 Setting the power supply ES61 After switching on, the individual settings for the individual parameters are shown on the LED display on the power supply unit.
  • Page 30 kV - Discharge voltage The setpoint of the discharge voltage can be varied within a range of 3.5 - 5 kV. The ionization range can be extended by increasing th voltage. The discharge voltage also affects the ion balance. Reducing the discharge voltage improves the ion balance.

    4.3 Function monitoring The correct functioning of the unit is signaled via LEDs. In addition, func- tion monitoring is possible with the optional fault signal and signal outputs of the I/O interface. Note! Malfunctions are not saved. The disruption of the supply voltage automati- cally cancels the malfunction message.

    4.4 Releasing the high voltage Several options are available for releasing the high voltage. These may differ depending on the device variant. Attention! If electrically conductive substrates or substrates coated with conductive material (e.g. metal foil or metal composites) are used, the release of the high voltage must be blocked.

    4.5 Integrated control elements Settings on the power supply are made via the integrated control ele- ments. Error and warning messages can be acknowledged directly on the device. Depending on the power supply variant, the operator can use the integra- ted membrane keyboard or the touchscreen.

    4.5.1.3 Setting the setpoint Discharge voltage When the display mode for the discharge voltage is selected (LED kV lights up continuously), the setpoint value for the discharge voltage can be set by pressing the +/- buttons. The LED bar display changes from dis- playing the actual value to displaying the setpoint value immediately after the button is pressed.

    4.5.1.4 Setting the frequency Discharge voltage The frequency of the discharge voltage can be set using the +/- buttons of the LED bar when selecting the display mode for the frequency (LED Hz lights up continuously). The frequency is set in steps in a range of 50 - 200 Hz.

    4.5.1.6 Setting and deleting the software release Press the ON/OFF button to set or delete the software release. The "Release via integrated control elements" setting must be activated (default setting). 4.5.1.7 Saving the parameters To save the entire parameter set, press and hold the OK button until the LEDs flash twice.

    4.5.1.10.1 Start Setup menu To start the setup menu, first select the discharge voltage, frequency or balance display mode of the LED bar. Then press and hold the Setup but- ton until the "SETUP" LED lights up continuously. Pressing the OK button takes you to the menu item for the Software release or Activate reference point option.

    4.5.1.11.2 Activation reference point The "Brush" LED signals the selection of the menu item for setting the activation of the reference point. All four connection LEDs also light up. The LED bar shows the current setting of the parameter. The + and - but- tons can be used to change the setting of the software release option.

    4.5.1.11.3 Pollution monitoring connection The "Pollution monitoring connection" menu item is indicated by the "kV" LED lighting up. The corresponding connection LED also lights up to indi- cate which connection is selected for setting. The illuminated LED of the LED bar shows the current setting. The setting can be adjusted using the + and - buttons.

    4.5.2.5 Parameters The parameters can be set using the "Parameters" button on the display. To open, press the "Parameters" button in the upper area of the main view. This opens an overview of all parameters that can be read with the current access level.

The value is set and saved by pressing the "OK" button. The selection list for setting the parameters is opened by pressing the dis- played parameter value.

    Suitable sensors can be used for metal detection, suction monitoring and measuring humidity and temperature. However, Eltex recommends using the sensors listed in chapter 9 "Spare parts and accessories”, page 94.

    4.5.2.5.4.4 Setting the E-field sensor A few settings must be made to ensure correct measurement of the con- nected E-field sensor. In order to correctly convert the measured electrostatic field into the resulting voltage, the working dis- tance of the sensor must be set.

    An analog sensor with an output signal of 0 - 10 V depending on the air humidity must be used to measure the air humidity. Eltex recommends the use of the combined humidity and temperature sensor, see chapter 9 "Spare parts and accessories”, page 94, art.

First, select the appropriate mode depending on the configuration of the external sensor extension.     4.5.2.6 Actual values The current actual values are displayed on the "Actual values" tab in the main view. To open it, press the "Actual values" button at the top of the main view. This opens an overview of all actual values that can be read with the current access level.
