Trouble shooting guide for VXI-CMOD (1/2)
Problem
VXI-CMOD keeps showing "Disconnect"
VXI-CMOD cannot be added to OPTEX Vision App
Wi-Fi router is not shown in the drop down list.
No image appears
Low wireless signal
Poor image quality
The APP cannot record any video clips
Notification is not working
Memory card error
Wrong date and time are shown
When the smartphone fails to connect to the camera Wi-Fi
‧ If it is first registration for the VXI-CMOD, Need to wait for 120 seconds before displaying live view for rebooting.
‧ Ensure the WiFi router is activated.
‧ Ensure the camera is powered on.
‧ Reset the device by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds.
‧ Ensure the Wi-Fi router is activated.
‧ Ensure the camera is powered on.
‧ Reset the device by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds.
‧ Reboot your smartphone before registering a new device.
‧ Disable mobile data on your smartphone before registering a new device.
‧ Ensure SSID broadcasting function is enabled in the Wi-Fi router. Consult your Wi-Fi router manufacturer for the settings if necessary.
‧ Change the wireless security protocol of your Wi-Fi router into WPA/WPA2/WPA2-PSK. Due to security concerns, WEP protocol is not
suggested for some Wi-Fi routers.
Please note:
WPA/WPA2/WPA2-PSK - These types of encryption protocols are newer and are more effective security standards for wireless networks than
the older and less secure WEP protocol.
‧ Ensure the power adaptor is in working order and plugged into an electrical outlet with power.
‧ Try to use optional external antenna.
‧ Try to use Wi-Fi repeater.
‧ Ensure VXI-CMOD is properly configured in App.
‧ Make sure the mobile device is connected to 3G/4G/Wi-Fi properly.
‧ Wireless devices such as wireless home stereo systems may reduce the signal strength. Leave as much space as possible between the
camera/mobile device and these wireless devices.
‧ Clean the camera lens using lens cleaning cloth. Spots or dust on the lens can also cause image quality problems.
‧ Ensure micro SD card has been correctly inserted.
‧ Make sure the detector has been enabled and ribbon cable is properly connected.
‧ Please format micro SD card when it is used for the first time.
‧ Make sure you are using FAT 32 format micro SD card and capacity is 32G or less.
‧ Make sure the notification function is enabled on your smart phone device.
‧ Ensure the Wi-Fi router is activated.
‧ Ensure the camera is powered on.
‧ Ensure micro SD card has been correctly inserted.
‧ Make sure you are using FAT 32 format micro SD card and capacity is 32G or less.
Please note:
Please backup the data before formatting. Format function will erase all the data on the memory card.
‧ Wrong date and/or time will result in unexpected record schedule. Ensure the correct time zone is set.
‧ Confirm the system date/time of the mobile device to ensure correct operation.
‧ The clock will automatically set itself when connected to the internet.
‧ Please go to Wi-Fi setting in the mobile device and remove or forget the device name and reconnect.
‧ Please reboot the power and try to reconnect the camera.
‧ Reset the device by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds.
‧ Some Android and Apple mobile devices will automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network with internet accessibility and will not allow direct
connection between your mobile phone to IVPC-DS via Wi-Fi Direct, these phone features may be called "Smart Network Switch", "Auto
Network Switch" or "Avoid poor Wi-Fi connections". If your phone does not allow direct Wi-Fi connection to this device, please switch off these
Smart Network functions from the phone before performing Wi-Fi Pairing.
