Connections
PI-900S/T
Connect with the PiiGAB M-Bus 900
1) Connect to the Ethernet 1 and the power supply.
2) Wait to the Pwr-LED to become constant red.
3) Read the gateway's MAC-address at the right gable.
The MAC-address has the format: E8-99-5A-XX-XX-XX.
4) Start the application PiiGAB M-Bus Setup Wizard.
5) For initial contact there are three different possibilities:
a. DHCP with router: Computer and gateway will be assigned with an
IP-configuration automatically.
b. Direct connection: Assign computer to 192.168.10.1 and connect directly
to the Ethernet 1 connection. Wait a minute after start and the gateway
will be set to randomize IP between 192.168.10.3 – 192.168.10.253.
c. Static network: Assigning the gateway to a specific address in the Wizard.
1) Turn on the gateway.
2) Start Wizard and from the main menu select Change gateway's
IP-settings
3) Specify the gateway's MAC-address and press Next.
4) Specify the IP-address, press Next and press Apply.
5) The gateway will restart, ignore any error messages in the Wizard.
6) Select Find gateways on the network from the main menu in the Wizard.
7) Double click on the PiiGAB M-Bus 900 in the list and start its web interface.
8) Accept/add the security exception.
9) Default login name and password are found on the left side of the gateway.
Assign an IP-address in the web interface
1) Open the PiiGAB M-Bus 900's web interface.
2) Go to Configuration.
3) Assign an IP-configuration for the gateway.
4) Press Save Ethernet Settings, the gateway will reboot.
Test communication with one M-Bus meter
1) Start the PiiGAB M-Bus Setup Wizard and choose Test search and configure
meters, press Next.
2) Specify the gateway's IP-address, port 10001 and UDP, press Next.
3) Select Find meter's primary and secondary address.
4) Specify primary address 251 and press Find.
The internal M-Bus meter in the PiiGAB M-Bus 900 should respond.
5) Specify primary address 254 and press Find.
The M-Bus meter should respond. Read the meter's actual primary address.
Note: You can only have one M-Bus meter connected when using primary
address 254.
6) Specify primary address actual primary address and press Find.
The M-Bus meter should respond.
External antennas
The gateway comes with two different antennas. It's important that they are placed in
the right position. The small one (Wireless M-Bus) on the left and the large one (LTE) on
the right.

SIM-Card installation
If you ordered your gateway together with PiiGAB
SIM-Card service you can ignore this steps.
1) Insert the SIM-Card in the sim card holder on
the top side. See detailed image below
2) In the menu of PiiGAB interface go to "Installed
Software" and choose "GSM/LTE" in the
drop-down menu.
3) In "LTE Options" choose "Always UP" and press
"Submit"
4) Choose your SIM-Card provider in the list and
press "Set provider."
