Summary
HP Power Capping and HP Dynamic Power Capping are important power management features of
HP ProLiant servers. Using power capping, system administrators can set limits on power consumption
for a single server or groups of servers that will not affect server performance while enabling them to
provision data center power and cooling resources to appropriate levels rather than the servers'
maximum requirements. Enclosure Dynamic Power Capping represents the newest and most
sophisticated implementation of power capping, with its ability to actively reallocate an enclosure's
power cap across individual server blades based on their workload requirements.
