9 band dynamo radio

Using Rechargeable Batteries
Your radio has a built-in power dynamo which can charge the internal
rechargeable battery pack and let you play your radio without the AA
batteries. When you rotate the crank handle for as little as 2 minutes, the
dynamo recharges the Ni-MH battery which powers the radio for approx.
30 minutes. Follow these steps to power your radio using dynamo and
the rechargeable battery pack.
1 Remove the battery compartment cover.
2 The supplied Ni-MH battery is installed but not connected. Insert
the battery pack plug into the two pin battery pack socket. Replace
the compartment cover.
Caution: The battery packs polarized plug fits into the socket only one
way. If the plug does not fit properly, turn it round and try again. Do not
force it into the socket.
3 Set DYNAMO/BATT switch to DYNAMO or BATT. Charging takes
place using either position.
4 Set VOLUME/ON/OFF switch to OFF.
5 Lift the crank handle and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise.
Radio operation time depends on the number of turns and the time
per turn. For example,
approximately 2 turns per second
for 2 minutes will provide about
30 minutes of radio operation at a
medium volume level. You can
recharge the battery pack even while
the radio plays.
6 Return the crank to the folded
position.
Replace the Ni-MH battery when the play time reduces to an unaccept-
able level.
1 Remove the battery compartment cover.
2 Unplug the rechargeable battery pack connector and lift the pack
out of the compartment.

generator, rotate DYNAMO/BATT switch to DYNAMO.
2 Set band selector FM/MW/LW/SW switch to the desired band.
3 Rotate TUNING control to select the desired station.
4 Adjust VOLUME control to a comfortable listening level.
5 To turn off the radio, set VOLUME/ON/OFF switch to OFF.
Using the display light
Hold down LIGHT to illuminate the dial in low-light conditions.
Using the emergency alarm
Press the EMERGENCY ALARM button. The radio sounds a loud,
repeating beep. Press EMERGENCY ALARM button again to stop the
alarm. Any broadcast stops temporarily when the beep sounds.
Note: The emergency alarm takes 4 to 5 seconds to start after the
button is pressed.
Using earphones (not supplied)
To listen to the radio privately, connect earphones with a 3.5-mm plug
to the jack beneath the rubber flap on the side of the radio. Plugging
in earphones disconnects the internal speaker. Stereo earphones can
be used, however the output will be mono.
DC Socket (DC 3V) (not supplied)
Use 3 volt DC mains adaptor 200mA (see rating plate for details).
Remove the rubber flap on the side of the radio and plug the mains
adaptor into the adaptor input socket.
