16" RACK CONFIGURATION
24"-30" RACK CONFIGURATION

This rackmount kit enables a WaveMaster®/SDA 8000HD
oscilloscope to be mounted to standard 19" racks. The
rackmount can be assembled in two configurations:
• 16" (40.64 cm) for 15"-18" deep racks
• 24" (60.96 cm) to 30" (76.20 cm) adjustable for
23.5" to 30" deep racks
CAUTION: Do not configure for depths over 30".
We do not guarantee rackmount stability if installed in
racks greater than 30" deep.
WARNING: Do not service alone. To avoid personal
injury, do not install or adjust this product unless
another person capable of rendering first aid and
resuscitation is present.
Standard Parts
The rackmount kit includes:
• LEFT and RIGHT rear brackets (Qty. 1 ea.)
• LEFT and RIGHT rear bracket extenders (Qty. 1 ea.)
• LEFT and RIGHT sliding rail assemblies with
attached front bracket (Qty. 1 ea.)
• Mounting tray with attached shoes (Qty. 1)
• Mounting feet (Qty. 2)
• L-bracket (Qty. 1)
• Face vent plate with air baffle (Qty. 1)
• M3x10 screws (Qty. 2)
• M4 screws (Qty. 7)
• M4 nuts (Qty. 4)
Required Equipment
You must supply the following to assemble the rackmout:
• Torx T-10 driver for use with all M3 screws
• Torx T-20 driver for use with all M4 screws
• 7 mm wrench
• 12 fasteners for attaching the rackmount to your rack
Note: The fasteners must be rated to hold the combined
weight (~61.2 lb / 27.75 kg) of the oscilloscope and rackmount.
Consult your rack manufacturer for appropriate options.
Load Bearing and Balancing
Do not load more than 65 lb of weight onto the tray. Avoid
pressing down on the oscilloscope when placing it on or
removing it from the mounting tray.
CAUTION: Use two or more people to install the
instrument into the rack cabinet to prevent the
oscilloscope from tipping or dropping. After completing
installation, verify that the instrument and the rack
cabinet will not tip forward while the mounting tray is in
the extended position.
CAUTION: Do not leave the mounting tray extended
when finished accessing the instrument.

Clearance and Ventilation
The rackmount requires a minimum of 12 Rack Units (RU)
of rack space for proper venting: 2 RUs for the mounting
tray, 8 RUs for the oscilloscope and 2 RUs for the air
baffle. Be sure to have reserved the required space prior to
mounting and identified the 2 RUs that will be used for the
mounting tray.
The WaveMaster was designed with thermal shutdown
protection. Cool air intakes are located at the bottom and
rear of the instrument. Warm air exhausts are located at
the top of the instrument. To avoid shutdown, ensure fresh
air is available, and that exhaust air is not recirculating into
the intakes.
CAUTION: Do not place other equipment on top of
the WaveMaster, doing so will compromise the
ventilation. Keep the area immediately above and
below the oscilloscope clear.
CAUTION: Install the provided vent plate-air
baffle for safety. Installation of the air baffle is
critical for proper air flow through the instrument
when mounted in the rack.
