SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Make sure that all warning and information labels are in place, clean and legible. Defective labels must be replaced immediately. explanation of the symbols Warning! This symbol indicates that special attention is required and is accompanied by appropriate information about the hazard. DANGER.Pay particular attention when this symbol appears in the text.
  • Page 6 control of your body. Location Warning!Never operate the band sawmill with a gasoline engine in a closed or poorly ventilated room. This can lead to death by suffocation or carbon monoxide poisoning. (Mod. BSW-66GL) If the workplace is inadequately lit, the band sawmill or band saw blade may only be used in bright daylight. Always keep the work area clean and free of debris, pets, children, obstructions and anything else that could distract the operator.
  • Page 7 The safety equipment required for processing must be functioning properly. Check the function of the EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH before each cut. If the test fails, replace it immediately. Warning!Danger of entrapment and rotating parts: Even slight pressure on the saw head's disengagement mechanism can cause the saw head to fall uncontrollably and cause the crank to rotate, which can lead to injury.
  • Page 8 or other moving parts. Be aware that the position of the band saw blade and cable will change when the saw carriage is moved. Warning!Danger of being hit by the saw carriage. Warning! There is a risk of tripping on rails and crossbeams. Never shorten your route by walking over the rails.

  • Page 11: Assembly Of The Band Saw Mill

Weight: see technical data. ASSEMBLY OF THE BAND SAW MILL 1) SCOPE OF DELIVERY Remove all parts from the shipping box and lay them out. Inspect for damage and missing parts.
  • Page 12 2) ASSEMBLY OF THE RAILWAY (SECTION) Loosely assemble the rail system using the bolts, washers and nuts provided. It is important that you do not fully tighten the bolts at this stage. This will only be done after the saw unit has been assembled and the two sections connected.
  • Page 13 Attach the two sections to each other. Fasten the flat iron under the two rails using the screws, washers and nuts. Leave some play and only tighten the nuts by hand! The nuts are only tightened when the saw unit with the movable frame rolls smoothly on the rail track and is adjusted to the correct track width.
  • Page 14 clamp for large clamp for small tree trunks tree trunks and squared timbers Using the 4 screws, washers and nuts provided, attach the tensioner to the left and right rails as shown in the image above. Note that this assembly can be installed at various locations along the rail path. Depending on how many sections are used, choose a position for the tensioner that will hold the log firmly against the stops (A).
  • Page 15 The band sawmill has two stop sets - a short set and a long set. The longer set is ideal for larger logs. The shorter set is suitable for smaller diameter logs and squared timber. 4) ASSEMBLY OF THE SAW CARRIAGE Lay out the saw carriage parts shown above.
  • Page 16 Mount the round vertical bar (shown left) to the wheel assembly using the two bolts and nuts and the back plate. Repeat this step to mount the square vertical bar (shown right). Place a tarpaulin on the shipping pallet on which the band sawmill was mounted. The tarpaulin ensures that the band saw guard does not get scratched.
  • Page 17 Insert the rear rectangular frame into the base of the saw carriage until it rests on the pulley bolts. Secure the frame by securely tightening the four 16mm bolts (shown in the right picture). adjusting nut Lock the lifting handles on both the round and square bars to prevent the saw head from moving when the assembly is flipped over in the following steps.
  • Page 18 (slide wheel) against the rails. The square, vertical bar must be on the same side as the stops. Slide the upper cross brace onto the round bar and insert the pulley, collar and bolt assembly into the hole. Insert the nut from the inside of the round bar to secure the pulley. Hold the nut with a 16mm wrench and tighten the bolt.
  • Page 19 Place the dial bracket as shown above and secure with the bolts and nuts. It is important to tighten the nuts alternately (top then bottom) to ensure the black round clamp is applying equal pressure at the top and bottom until the flanges meet at the outer edge.
  • Page 20 Attach the steel cables to the guide rollers as shown above. Attach the cable bolts to the brackets on the band sawmill head as shown above. It is best to lower the band sawmill saw unit all the way down. Then adjust the two bolts so that the saw unit is level with the cross braces of the rails.
  • Page 21 L-handle L-handle H-grip H-grip Insert the H-handle into the vertical bars of the saw carriage. Insert the "L-handle" into the right vertical bar. Adjust the height of the handles and lock them with the T-bolts. Please refer to the picture above. safety bolt cable Connect the safety bolt cable to the guide wheel lock handle.
  • Page 22 Use the tap on the coolant reservoir to adjust the fluid flow (+/-) by turning the screw left (+) or right (-). You can obtain a suitable cooling lubricant concentrate from qualified specialist retailers. Attach the four cleaners to the frame so that the steel brush reaches the bottom of the groove in the carriage wheels.
  • Page 23 It is very important to take the tension off the saw blade by turning the "T-handle" anti-clockwise when the band sawmill is not in use. If this is not done, flat spots will develop on the rubber belts. These flat spots will cause the saw to vibrate badly the next time it is used.
  • Page 24 5) GASOLINE ENGINE (BSW-66GL) Read the gasoline engine manual before using the band sawmill. Please note that the engine does not contain any petrol or engine oil upon delivery. The engine is also equipped with an oil warning system. This means that if the oil level in the crankcase is low or there is no oil left, the power supply to the spark plug is cut off and the engine will not start.
  • Page 25: Adjustment Of The Band Saw Mill

ADJUSTMENT OF THE BAND SAW MILL 1) BELT TENSION To check the belt tension, use a tension gauge to deflect the belt up and down with a force of 60 N. The deviation should not exceed 5-6 mm in either direction. If the belt can be deflected further, it must be tensioned as described below.
  • Page 26 The motor is now free to slide on the mounting plate. Turn the 16mm nut on the horizontal bolt clockwise. This will pull the motor towards the bolt and tension the belt. Do this gradually, checking the belt for the correct amount of deflection.
  • Page 27 Loosen the blade guide mounting bolt using a 16mm wrench. The round shaft should now slide freely backwards. Perform this step on both guide assemblies. This will ensure that the guide bearings do not affect the blade tracking during adjustment. Remove some tension from the saw blade by turning the “T-handle”...
  • Page 28 Alternatively, turning the bolt anti-clockwise would cause the saw blade to move further forward on the idler pulley. Turn the bolt half a turn and tighten the saw blade again. Turn yourhand protected by a glove the impeller and observe how the blade tracking has changed. Measure the distance again and repeat the above step if necessary for further adjustment.
  • Page 29: Adjusting The Saw Blade Guide

    3) ADJUSTING THE SAW BLADE GUIDE Never perform the following steps when the engine is running. Turn the machine off and remove the spark plug cap or unplug the machine as a safety precaution. We also recommend that you make sure the blade tracking is correctly adjusted before performing the following steps.
