Introduction
The Philips Avent Comfort Breast Shells include:
- Ventilated breast shells with holes (Fig. A) – 2 pcs
- Non-ventilated breast shells without holes (Fig. B) – 2 pcs
- With a flat area for stability (Fig. C) and a pouring spout (Fig. D)
- Backing cushions – 2 pcs
Intended use and indications for use
The Philips Avent Comfort Breast Shells are intended to be
worn inside the bra by lactating women during breastfeeding
or expressing: to protect sore or cracked nipples and to help
relieve engorgement (ventilated breast shells); to collect breast
milk for later use (non-ventilated breast shells). The product is
intended for a single user.
Important safety information
Read this important information carefully before you use the
product and save it for future reference.
Contraindications - There are no contraindications.
Undesirable side effects - When using the product,
undesirable side effects that may occur are erythema,
dermatitis, thrush, cracked or sore nipples, hard or plugged
milk ducts, infection, too little milk or too much milk. If you
experience any of these symptoms, contact a healthcare
professional or breastfeeding specialist.
Warnings to avoid swallowing of small parts and
suffocation:
- Always keep this product under adult supervision.
- Keep all parts not in use out of the reach of children.
- Do not allow children to play with small parts or packaging
materials.
Warning to prevent transmitting infectious diseases:
- If you are a mother who is infected with Hepatitis B, Hepatitis
C or Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), expressing breast
milk will not reduce or remove the risk of transmitting the
virus to your baby through your breast milk.
Warning to avoid contamination and to ensure hygiene:
- Follow the instructions described in section ‚Cleaning and
disinfection'.
