3. SAFETY INFORMATION Safety information 4912978187 Basic guidelines 4912980747 Proper use ● Hydraulic accumulators are intended for use in hydraulic installations and are exclusively designed to store and then discharge pressure fluids. ● Hydraulic accumulators are dimensioned, designed, manufactured and placed on the market on the basis of national and international regulations.

3. SAFETY INFORMATION DANGER Risk of burns The accumulator shell can become hot. DANGER Risk of suffocation Nitrogen is released into the surrounding area when draining nitrogen from the hydraulic accumulator or when safety devices respond. Large quantities of nitrogen in enclosed areas cause a lack of oxygen: ventilate areas.
4. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE Transport and storage 4913588235 Transport The transport of gas-filled hydraulic accumulators must be carried out with the utmost care and in compliance with all relevant transport safety regulations (e.g. on public roads, dangerous goods regula- tions, etc).hydraulic accumulator. Storage The hydraulic accumulator can be stored in any position (orientation).
5. COMMISSIONING Commissioning 4913673227 DANGER Risk of explosion u Only use nitrogen as a charging gas. Compressed air can also be used under certain conditions. See ▶Sec. 5.1 "Pre-charge pressure" Pre-charge pressure 4913676683 Plastic diaphragm accumulators are normally supplied with a transit pressure (less than 2 bar). The hydraulic accumulator must be charged by the operator to the required pre-charge pressure before commissioning.
5. COMMISSIONING Hydraulic fluids 4915933963 Plastic diaphragm accumulators were developed for use in applications with aggressive fluids. Suitable liquids, such as mineral lubricants, petrol, weak and strong mineral acids, weak and strong organic acids, perchloroethylene, others by request. Partially-suitable liquids, such as oxidising acids, acetone and strong alkalis are to be coordinated with HYDAC.
6. MAINTENANCE Maintenance 9007204170834827 You will find the drawings of the named items in the following sections in ▶Sec. 2 "Product information". Basic guidelines 4918865931 In order to ensure long and trouble-free operation, the following maintenance procedures must be carried out regularly: ●...
Page 14
6. MAINTENANCE 1. Disconnect hydraulically charged accumulators from the system with shut-off valve 3. 2. Use pressure relief spindle 4 to slowly drain the hydraulic accumulator on the fluid side. 3. Watch the pressure gauge 2. The pressure will initially fall slowly. It will drop suddenly only after the accumulator has drained completely.
Page 15
6. MAINTENANCE 1. Carefully clean the area around the gas-side and fluid-side ports. 2. Fully relieve pressure on the fluid side of the hydraulic accumulator. 3. Unscrew the protective cap 6.4. 4. Loosen the A9 adapter screw plug using an AF6 hex socket screwdriver, DIN ISO 2936 (max. 1/2 revolution) and screw the A9 adapter onto the gas valve assembly 6.

6. MAINTENANCE 5. Set the pre-charge pressure to the setpoint value. See ▶Sec. 6.3 "Check the pre-charge pressure". 6. Check the gas valve assembly 6 for leaks by using a leak detection spray. 7. Install protective cap 6.4. For the tightening torque, see ▶Sec. 2 "Product information". EN 3.703.BA0/06.24...

7. DISPOSAL Disposal 4921518859 DANGER u Before carrying out any work on the hydraulic accumulator, the relevant safety precautions must be taken. u Risk of suffocation: Ensure adequate ventilation when discharging nitrogen from the hydraulic accu- mulator in enclosed spaces. u Any hydraulic fluid that may leak out must be collected.
8. CUSTOMER SERVICE Customer service 4921522827 Service, repeat testing and repairs can be carried out at the HYDAC head office or at all national and inter- national HYDAC sales and service centres. Contact at Headquarters HYDAC Systems & Services GmbH Werk 13 Postfach 1251 66273 Sulzbach/Saar...
