EARTH PRO SYSTEM INSTALLATION GUIDE
Read Me First!
Installation of this product is a simple procedure
but is only recommended if you are an experi-
enced repair technician.
Dry fit the Rare Earth Blend pickup and Tap
Body Sensor BEFORE installing.
The Jon Gomm signature PowerTap Earth Pro
System is the exact dual jack system installed in
the Jon Gomm signature guitar - This product
enables distinct outputs for each of the 3 pickup
sources (Mag / Mic / Tap Body Sensor) using a
TRS "Y" cable or the provided stereo adaptor.
Installing the second endpin jack included is
optional. If you decide to only install the main
output jack, all three signals will be available in a
mixed mono output using a standard ¼" instru-
ment cable.
If you are not installing the second jack, remove
the preamp cover and carefully unsolder the
three wire connections (red / white / ground.)
Remove the wire and replace the preamp cover
and screw.
Included Components:
• Endpin Jack Mounted Preamp
• Second Endpin Jack (optional)
• Tap Body Sensor
• Soundhole Mounted Blend Module
• Rare Earth Mic Blend Pickup
• Battery Bag with adhesive-backed swatch
• Wire Clips
Tools Required:
• Drill with 15/32" Drill Bit
• 1/2" Open-End Wrench (or Adjustable
Wrench)
• Allen Wrench or Small Screwdriver
• Rubber-Tipped Pliers
• Rubbing Alcohol and Cotton Swabs
• Loctite™ Super Glue Gel Control
• Fine Grit Paper
Installation
Install Endpin Mounted Main Preamp
1. Drill a 15/32" hole at the desired location in
the endblock of the guitar.
2. Place components onto the main output jack
threading in this order (labeled above):
1 - Large Hex Nux
2 - Large Dress Washer
3 - Star Washer
3. Place the jack into the hole created in Step
1 - The endpin jack should protrude at least
5/16" (7.9mm) and no more than 11/32" (8.7mm)
outside the guitar's body.
4. Place components onto the threading OUT-
SIDE of the guitar's body in this order (labeled
above):
4 - Small Dress Washer
5 - Small Dress Nut
5. Tighten the small dress nut using a ½" open-
end or adjustable wrench - Hold the jack in
place using an allen wrench or small screwdriver
(pictured below) while tightening.
