Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in
NOTE: Ensure that your computer is in Service Mode. For more information, see step 6 in
computer.
2. Remove the base cover.

NOTE: Depending on the configuration of your computer, the computer ships with either a 6-cell battery (90 Wh) or a
4-cell battery (64 Wh).

Steps
1. Disconnect the 4-cell battery cable from its connector on the system board.
2. Remove the four screws (M2x3.5) that secure the 4-cell battery (64 Wh) to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
3. Lift the 4-cell battery (64 Wh) off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
