Rear Camera Installation Quick-View

  1. Select the location where you want to install the rear camera
Recommended Location 1: Above the rear license plate
To mount the rear camera, remove the protective covering on the double-sided tape of the rear camera and secure it above the license plate as close to the center of the vehicle as possible. Ensure that you are not blocking any sensors, latches, buttons, your license plate, or any other items needed for vehicle operation. Please ensure that the rear camera lens is pointed outward before securing the unit.
Note: If you need to adjust the angle of the rear camera, please use the exterior bracket (Mount for rear camera) to install the rear camera.
Rear Camera Installation - Step 1

Please refer to the following installation guideline:

  1. Locate the package containing the exterior bracket (Mount for rear camera).
Rear Camera Installation - Step 2
  2. Peel the backing from one side of the double sided tape and apply the tape to the exterior bracket as shown in the images below.

  3. Attach the rear camera to the exterior bracket using the provided short screws, but do not fully tighten the screws. Once you have confirmed that the angle of the camera is correct you can then tighten the screws to secure the unit in place.
Rear Camera Installation - Step 4
  4. Then attach the rear camera to the vehicle either using the exterior bracket mounting tape or the provided long screws.
Rear Camera Installation - Step 5

Recommended Location 2: Inside the vehicle

    1. Locate your reverse lights. The location will be different from vehicle to vehicle. If you cannot locate them, please consult your vehicle owner's manual for model-specific information, contact your local dealership, or ask a professional for assistance.
    2. Once you have located the lights, and then locate the positive wire leading to the reverse light as well as the red trigger wire on the rear camera extension cable.

    4. To disconnect the wire in order to do so. Simply strip a small section from the middle of the wire as shown above in a convenient location.
    5. Connect the red trigger wire to the positive wire of the reverse light by wrapping the two wires firmly together. Use electrical tape (Not provided) to wrap the connection and any exposed metal from the wires. This will help in two ways: first by keeping the wires from becoming disconnected, as well as preventing the bare wires from contacting a metal surface and shorting out. As such, make sure to thoroughly wrap the connection taking care not to leave any unexposed metal.
  5. Route the rear camera extension cable to the front of the vehicle and connect it to the main camera unit
Use the pry tool to open a channel for wiring along the edge of the ceiling panel as shown in the picture below. Route the rear camera extension cable through the channel you have made and connect it to the front camera. Once all wiring has been completed close the opening you have made by reclipping the ceiling panels back into place.
Rear Camera Installation - Step 16
  6. Start your car and turn on the dash cam
Test the device to make sure every part works well.
