To reset the Panasonic LUMIX DC-TZ99 to take JPEG images, follow these steps:

1. Go to the camera menu.
2. Select [Reset] to restore recording settings, drive mode, and setup settings to default.
3. Ensure that [Quality] is set to an option that records in JPEG format.
4. Confirm that [Snap Movie] is set to [OFF], as JPEG recording is not available when it is [ON].

This will restore the camera to default settings and allow it to take JPEG images.
