CAUTION
Do not move off quickly when the
engine is cold.
To reduce polluting emissions and fuel
consumption, warm up the engine by
riding at a moderate speed for the first
few kilometers.
u
Do not accelerate and decelerate
repeatedly as this can lead to losing
control of the vehicle.

WARNING
When braking, operate both brakes for
even deceleration, with a gradual
pressure on the brake levers.
Using only the front or rear brake
reduces braking performance, and may
lock up a wheel and lose road holding.
If stopping on an uphill, decelerate
completely and use the brake to hold
the vehicle stationary.
Using the engine to hold the vehicle
steady can overheat the speed variator.
WARNING
Before entering a curve, reduce your
speed and brake, then ride through the
curve at constant speed or slightly
accelerating; do not brake fully: this will
very likely lead to skidding.
Using the brakes continuously on
downhills can overheat the brake pads
and reduce braking performance.
Exploit engine compression by using
both brakes intermittently. Do not ride
downhill with the engine off.
WARNING
On a wet or slippery surface (snow, ice,
mud, etc.), ride at a low speed, without
sudden braking or turns which could
cause the vehicle to skid and fall over.
Pay attention to obstacles or variations
in the road surface.

covers, painted road signals, metal
plates used on construction sites, all
become slippery in the rain, and should
be approached with caution, driving
evenly and with the vehicle as upright
as possible.
