TYRES
This vehicle is provided with tubeless tyres.
WARNING
Periodically check the inflation pressure
of the tyres at room temperature, see
page 70 (TECHNICAL DATA)
If the tyres are hot, the measurement is
not correct.
Carry on the measurement especially
before and after a long trips.
If the inflation pressure is too high, the
unevenness of the ground cannot be
dampened and is therefore transferred to
the handlebar, thus compromising the
driving comfort and reducing road hold-
ing during turns.
If, on the contrary, the inflation pressure
is too low, the tyre sidewalls (1) are under
greater stress, thus causing the tyre to
slip on the rim or to come off, making you
lose control of the vehicle.
In case of sudden braking, the tyres could
get out of the rims. In addition, the vehi-
cle could skid while turning.
Check the surface and the wear of the
tyres, because tyres in bad conditions can
compromise the grip and the manoeuvra-
bility of the vehicle.
Some kinds of tyres, homologated for this
vehicle, are provided with wear indica-
tors. Different wear indicators are avail-
able on the market. Ask your Dealer for
information about wear checking opera-
tions.
Visually check the wear of the tyres;
1
change them if they are worn out .
If the tyres are old, even though not com-
pletely worn out, they may become hard
and impair the roadholding. In this case,
have the tyres replaced.
Have the tyre replaced if it is worn out or
in case of puncture on the tread side, if
the puncture is larger than 5 mm.
After repairing the tyre, carry on the wheel
balancing.
Use only tyres having the size suggested
by aprilia, see page 70 (TECHNICAL
DATA).
Do not install tyres with air tube on rims
for tubeless tyres and viceversa.
Make sure that the inflation valves are
always provided with their sealing caps
in order to avoid a sudden deflation of the
tyres.
