- Page 3 1. Preface Dear Trigon Customer, We are pleased that you have chosen the EXCELLENCE integrated amplifier. This device was manufactured under the strictest quality controls and is an exemplary example of modern precision engineering. Even if you are already an experienced user of HiFi devices, you should carefully study this manual and follow the instruc ons contained within.
- Page 4 Also, avoid laying connec on cables parallel to light cables. Humming interference can also come from fluorescent lamps, so maintain a minimum distance of approximately 1 meter. Avoid direct sunlight and do not place the EXCELLENCE in close proximity to strong heat sources.

A er a short start-up phase (the status LED (2) blinks red and green), you'll hear clicks from some relays. Once the display ligh ng has turned on and the LED (2) is con nuously green, the EXCELLENCE is ready for opera on.
- Page 7 1. Power On/Off Switch With this bu on, the EXCELLENCE is turned on or off. If the LED (2) above this bu on is not illuminated, the standby func on via switch (17) is not yet ac vated or the amplifier is not yet connected to the power supply (16).
- Page 8 10. Speaker Status LED If this LED is lit, the speaker jacks (18) and (19) are ac vated. 11. Infrared Receiver To ensure that your Trigon remote control can establish a connec on, please do not place anything in front of this sensor.
- Page 9 Here, the power cable is plugged in. Always ensure the correct mains voltage. By default, the EXCELLENCE is set for a mains voltage of 230 V AC. If the EXCELLENCE has been configured for other mains voltages, corresponding indica ons are provided on the device.
- Page 10 23. Coaxial SPDIF Inputs The RCA jacks are the two coaxial SPDIF inputs. All devices with a standard SPDIF output can be connected here. At the EXCELLENCE, the input Digital 1 or Digital 2 (38) must then be selected. 24. Balanced 2 Input A balanced stereo input for source devices with line level (e.g., CD player).
- Page 11 30. Balanced Output The balanced output is the preamplifier output of the EXCELLENCE. Ac ve speakers or ac ve subwoofers as well as external power amplifiers can be connected here. The volume at this output is adjusted by the Volume Knob (13) in parallel with the internal power amplifier.

EXCELLENCE with Director Premium Remote Control Of course, the most important func ons of the EXCELLENCE can also be controlled remotely with the Trigon Infrared System Remote Control Director Premium. 1. When pressing a bu on, you can see which device type the remote control is set to.
- Page 13 Turn the Input knob (12) to the desired bu on you want to assign, and confirm by pressing the knob. The display on the Excellence will change, indica ng that the device is ready to receive a remote control signal.
- Page 14 2. Se ngs To access the se ngs, press the Menu bu on (7). Naviga on is done by rota ng and pressing the Input knob (12). 2.1. Sound Balance With the Balance control, you can adjust the volume between the le and right channels to achieve the op mal volume distribu on for your listening posi on.
- Page 15 Mono Pressing this bu on toggles the mono playback on or off. When the LED (4) above the Mono bu on is lit and the symbol (36) is displayed on the screen, mono playback is enabled. Reverse When the Reverse func on is ac vated, the audio signals of the le and right channels are swapped.
- Page 16 Time out You can set the EXCELLENCE to automa cally switch off a er a certain number of minutes. This can be adjusted in increments of 10 minutes and is adjustable for up to a maximum of 480 minutes (8 hours). A er switching it back on, the me-out is deac vated again.
- Page 17 Rename In the Rename window, you can change the label of the currently selected input. The le er currently selected for edi ng is enclosed in square brackets. By turning the rotary knob (12), you can select characters from A-Ü, a-ü, 0-9, and the space character, and confirm your selec on by pressing the knob.

When this func on is turned on, the audio signal is routed to the "Send" port and can be processed by an external effects device (e.g., equalizer) or signal processor. The processed signal is then returned through the "Return"...

Info The EXCELLENCE can be updated using a web interface accessible through your computer's browser.
- Page 20 Moving the switch to the right turns on Wi-Fi, enabling updates and se ngs through your web browser on a PC or mobile device. Upon ini al ac va on, EXCELLENCE crea- tes its own Wi-Fi signal, requiring login. If EXCELLENCE does not find the specified Wi- Fi network or if the password is incorrect, it automa cally switches to Device Mode, genera ng its own Wi-Fi network.
- Page 21 3. Web Interface The web interface allows convenient se ngs and updates to be performed. EXCELLENCE must be powered on during se ngs and updates. You must have previously ac vated and set up Wi-Fi as well (see Chapter 4.7).
