How CapTel Works Your new CapTel 2400i works like any other phone – just pick up the handset and dial the person you want to call on the dialing keypad. Every time you make a call, the Internet connection acts as your telephone line, carrying your conversation back and forth.

Touch Screen Display Shows captions, Caller ID, Answering Machine messages, Contacts, and more. You can touch an item on the Display Screen to select it. Time & Date Monday Ring Flasher Bright lights blink to alert you to any incoming calls and new answering machine messages.

Volume Button Lets you adjust the volume to a comfortable level, up to a 40dB gain from min/max. To increase the volume, press plus sign on the – VOL button. Press minus sign on the VOL button to decrease – the volume.

Setting up Your CapTel 2400i Requirements 1. High-speed Internet access. Your CapTel phone can connect to your Internet service either with an Ethernet cable (recommended) or through a wireless (WiFi) network. Depending on your Internet setup, a router may also be required to allow you to connect more than one device to your Internet service.

For Wireless (WiFi) Connections: If you have a wireless (WiFi) network in your home or offi ce, your CapTel phone can connect to the Internet using the WiFi network. You do not need to plug in an Ethernet cable. To set up your CapTel for WiFi use, you will need to know the name of your wireless network as well as any passwords that are needed to access the network.

Using your computer, you can add photos to your Contact List to make it easy to dial by picture on your CapTel 2400i. You can also add, change, or delete Contacts on your computer, then download the changes directly your CapTel 2400i phone.

The MyContacts website helps manage the Contacts List on your CapTel phone. You can add new contacts, phone numbers, and even photos, then “sync” them with your CapTel 2400i. Because both the CapTel phone and the MyContacts website need to be set in sync mode, the sync process is easiest when the computer you are using and the CapTel phone are located close together.
