Precaution for Safety The manufacturer shall not assume any liability for the damage caused by not observing the description of this manual. DANGER Before carrying out the installation, maintenance, repair or removal work, be sure to set the circuit breaker to the OFF position. Otherwise, electric shocks may result. Before opening the intake grille of the indoor unit or service panel or valve cover of the outdoor unit, set the circuit breaker to the OFF position.

WARNING Use wiring that meets the specifications in the Installation Manual and the stipulations in the local regulations and laws. Use of wiring which does not meet the specifications may give rise to electric shocks, electrical leakage, smoking and/or a fire. The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations.

The refrigerant used by this air conditioner is the R32. Check the used refrigerant name and use tools and materials of the parts which match with it. For the products which use R32 refrigerant, the refrigerant name is indicated at a position on the outdoor unit where is easy to see.

Once the repair work has been completed, check for refrigerant leaks, and check the insulation resistance and water drainage. Then perform a trial run to check that the air conditioner is running properly. After repair work has finished, check there is no trouble. If check is not executed, a fire, electric shock or injury may be caused.

Refrigerant (R32) This air conditioner adopts HFC type refrigerant (R32) which does not deplete the ozone layer. 1. Safety Caution Concerned to Refrigerant The pressure of R32 is high 1.6 times of that of the former refrigerant (R22). Accompanied with change of refrigerant, the refrigerating oil has been also changed. Therefore, be sure that water, dust, the former refrigerant or the former refrigerating oil is not mixed into the refrigerating cycle of the air conditioner with refrigerant during installation work or service work.

4. Tools 1. Required Tools for R32 Mixing of different types of oil may cause a trouble such as generation of sludge, clogging of capillary, etc. Accordingly, the tools to be used are classified into the following three types. 1) Tools exclusive for R32 (Those which cannot be used for conventional refrigerant (R22)) 2) Tools exclusive for R32, but can be also used for conventional refrigerant (R22) 3) Tools commonly used for R32 and for conventional refrigerant (R22) The table below shows the tools exclusive for R32 and their interchangeability.

WARNINGS ON REFRIGERANT LEAKAGE Check of Concentration Limit The room in which the air conditioner is to be installed requires a design that in the event of refrigerant gas leaking out, its concentration will not exceed a set limit. The refrigerant R32 which is used in the air conditioner is safe, without the toxicity or combustibility of ammonia, and is not restricted by laws to be imposed which protect the ozone layer.
