Disassembly Procedure

Service Overview

Please pay special attention to the cautions below to prevent any damages to the notebook and also please be sure to select the appropriate tools described in this section to perform any services desired.

Precautions
Before you perform any service and or repair on the notebook, please follow the steps below first.

1. Be sure that the notebook is powered down.
2. Disconnect the AC plug from the notebook.
3. Remove all rings, watches and any other metal objects from your hands.
   
4. Always wear a ground strap on your hand to protect the notebook from static discharge.
5. Please refer to "ANSI ESD S20.20" about ESD protection measure.
6. Put disassemble the parts in the functional PE BAG for avoid any damages of the A/B/C/D part.
   
7. Environment temperature is 20-30 ℃ and humidity is 40% - 70%.
8. Avoid scratching the surface of the machine, please use anti-static and soft materials to put on desk in repair environment as below photo.
   

Appropriate Tools
The illustrations below show the appropriate tools that should be used for the notebook's service and repair.

Cross Screwdriver
Please according to different screw specification choose different screwdriver and head. Below photos are for reference only.

Use a cross screwdriver to fasten/remove screws.

Plastic Blade

Tweezers
Use a pair of tweezers to remove/insert flexible cables.

Thickness gauge
Thickness compass specification 0.05mm-1.5mm
Use it to measure the gap.

Block Diagram

Bottom Case Module
The illustrations below show how to remove the Bottom Case Module.

Remove Bottom Case Module
Remove 6 screws on Bottom Case. (There're 2 screws under the rubber foots.)

Parts

• Total screw *6

Separate from the Top Case Module
Use plastic blade to pry the Bottom case.

Parts
X571 BOTTOM CASE ASSY * 1
(Actual part name depends on different SKU.)

Battery Module

The illustration below shows how to remove the battery module.

Notice: Before disassembly, please be sure to pull out adapter and disconnect the battery more than ten seconds in order to avoid IC damage.

1. Remove 3 screws on the Battery module.

• X571 BATT/B31N1732(-1)/SMP/ICP485780D(LP485780)/3S1P/11.52V/42Wh *1
• Total screw *3

Speaker Module

The illustrations below show how to remove the Speaker Module.

1. Disconnect the speak cable on the M/B and remove it.
   Assembly Notice: please well arrange the audio cables and put them in the hook slot.
   

Parts

• X571 SPEAKER SET//QCI/DN320102001*1

Fan Module

The illustration below shows how to remove the Fan module.

1. Disconnect the Fan cable on the M/B.
   

2. Remove 4 screws and take Fan away.
   

• Please use the correct technique of taking fans in order to avoid being out of shape.
  

Parts

• X571 FAN//QCI/DQ5D517G000(104.4*75.6*6.5) & DQ5D587G000(83.7*73.6*6.5)
• Total screw * 4

Thermal Module

The illustration below shows how to remove the Thermal module.

1. Remove 6 screws on the heatsink.
   
   

Please refer to Repair Notice RN201907120_1 SOP for thermal material rework when you re-assemble thermal module.

HDD & SSD Module

The illustration below shows how to remove the HDD and SSD module.

1. Disconnect the cable on the M/B. Remove 1 screw on the SSD module.
   Assembly notice: Insert FFC to the bottom until just accord with the line when lock the latch.
   

2. Remove the SSD from left.
   

3. Remove the Bracket Snap, Push the HDD module to right and take it out
   

Notice: If users get this model with SSD only, they can add a new HDD by themselves, but they need below two parts to assemble the HDD.

1. HDD SUPPORT ASSY (X571 only)
2. HDD FFC
   

Parts

• Total screw *1
• SATA3 HDD 1TB 5400R 2.5'*1
• SSD P3X4 512GB M2 2280 OP 32GB*1

Wireless Module

The illustration below shows how to remove the Wireless module.

1. Disconnect the cable on the wireless module and remove 1 screw.
   

2. Remove the WLAN Board from left.
   

Parts

• Total screw *1
• INTEL/9461.NGWG.NV 958855 JFP1 * 1

USB Board

The illustrations below show how to remove the USB Board.

1. Disconnect the FFC from Main Board and remove 1 screw.
   Assembly notice: Insert FFC to the bottom until just accord with the line when lock the latch.
   

Parts

• Total screw *1
• X571 USB BD * 1

Motherboard

The illustrations below show how to separate the Motherboard.

1. Disconnect the Keyboard FPC and EDP cable.
   Assembly notice: Insert FFC to the bottom until just accord with the line when lock the latch.
   

2. Disconnect the Touchpad FFC and Backlight FFC.
   Assembly notice: Insert FFC to the bottom until just accord with the line when lock the latch.
   

3. Remove 2 screws on the MB Board and 2 screws on hinge.
   

4. Disconnect the FP FPC.
   Assembly notice: Insert FFC to the bottom until just accord with the line when lock the latch.
   
   

Assembly notice: Please change new one, If FFC is damage during disassembly.

Touchpad Module

The illustrations below show how to remove the Touchpad module.

1. Tear up the Mylar and remove 3 screws on Touchpad module.
   Notice: Please stick new Mylars when the Touchpad is assembled.

• TOUCHPAD FOR X571//ELAN/FA473D-32A1 (W/ FP)
• TOUCHPAD FOR X571//ELAN/ SA473I-1100 (W/O FP)
• CONDUCTIVE TAPE *1
• CU FOIL * 1

Bezel Module

The illustrations below show how to remove the Bezel module.

1. Remove the last 2 screws on Hinge
   

2. Appropriately protect the LCD and use a plastic blade to pry the Bezel. Start from the right and left inner side of the bezel.
   

Assembly Notice: Please change new Bezel when you assemble Bezel module.

• Total screw *2
• X571 Bezel *1

LCD Module

The illustrations below show how to remove the LCD module.

1. Remove the left hinge cap.
   

2. Remover the LCD module from the adhesive tape at both side of the cover.
   

Assembly Notice: Check the adhesive whether exist on the LCD cover when assemble the bottom case. If not, please paste it from the bottom of LCD cover.

Notice : Please slowly pull the adhesive up about 30 degree.

Hinge

The illustrations below show how to remove the Hinge.

1. Remove 6 screws on the bottom and 2 screws on the top.

• X571GT HINGE L//QCI/FBXKT004010 (main)
• X571GT HINGE L//QCI/FBXKT004010 (second)

Notice: If you need to replace hinges, please make sure hinge R and hinge L are the same vendor.

WLAN Antenna Cable

The illustrations below show how to remove the Antenna Cable

1. Remove the right hinge cap.

Safety precautions

• Before handling components, use a grounded wrist strap or touch a safely grounded object to avoid damaging them due to static electricity.
• Keep liquids or moisture away from your device to avoid short circuits.
• Remove rings, watches, and any other metal objects from your hands.
• Hold components by the edges to avoid touching the ICs.
• Properly install all components before connecting the AC power.
• Do not use power adapters or batteries from other devices to reduce the risk of injury to persons due to fire or explosion. Use only certified power adapters or batteries supplied by the manufacturer or authorized retailers.
• Detach all clips or flaps before removing cables to prevent damage.
• Use the correct screw models on your device to prevent damage.
• Fully remove all adhesive residue after removing and before installing any components.
• Photograph the appearance of cables, cable routing, connectors, and screws for later reference before proceeding with each step.

Pre-repair checklist

• Read the entire manual before starting any service procedures and follow all instructions.
• Back up the data on your device.
• Place your device on a clean and stable surface.

• Turn off your device.
• Disconnect all connected peripherals and cables.
• Disconnect all power cables and remove the battery pack (if applicable).

• If you are uncertain about performing the described service procedures, stop and contact an authorized service center for assistance.
• Purchase replacement components from authorized retailers of this device to ensure maximum compatibility and reliability.

• Keep all adhesive tape, insulating materials, screws, and other removable items in a safe place until the service procedure is completed, as they may be needed during reassembling.
