    22 1-2 Airbag 1-2 Airbag Introduction to airbag system ■ The airbag system is a part of the supplemental restraint system (SRS), supplemental to seats and belts. In case of a severe collision accident with the system triggering condition met, the airbags will deploy rapidly to provide additional protection for the heads and chests of the driver and the passengers together with the seat belts to reduce casualties.

    1-2 Airbag 23 Driver and front passenger airbags If your car is equipped with driver and front passenger airbags, when the airbag triggering conditions are met in a medium to severe frontal collision to the airbag system ECU in driving, the airbags will be deployed to protect the heads and chests of the driver and the front passenger so as to reduce injuries.
  • Page 24 After such deployment, there will be a smoke, which is the powder from the airbag surface. Although the powder is non-toxic, a passenger with a respiratory illness may still feel some temporary discomfort. It is recommended to contact a BYD authorized service store immediately in the following cases. The airbag is inflated.

    This warning light illuminates when the brake fluid level is low or when the brake system is malfunctioning. In the event of any of the following situations, please park your vehicle in a safe place immediately, and it is recommended to contact a BYD authorized service shop.
