FEATURES
The Rhythm Watch RW105 is a metronome designed for a broad spectrum of musical activities ranging from practice to live performance. Frequently-used controls and displays are especially large for fast and accurate operation. A program function lets you record beats and tempos for up to 30 songs, while a sound mode provides two types of voicing, so that you can select the optimum sound based on the applicable conditions. The RW105 also offers many other functions which contribute to convenience and performance.
PRECAUTIONS CONCERNING USE
- Avoid subjecting the RW105 to strong impact, such as dropping it or handling it roughly.
- If you are not using it at the moment, turnoff the power supply before storing the RW105.
- Avoid storing the RW105 in locations where it is subject to direct sunlight, high temperatures and humidity, and dust. These factors can cause malfunctions and breakdowns.
- Do not use thinners, benzene, or other similar solvents to clean the RW105.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
When the battery begins to run down, the LCD display and the LED itself become darker, and the sound becomes weaker. The battery should be replaced promptly when performance begins to deteriorate. Using the backlight will make the batteries run down more quickly. We recommend that you replace the batteries more often, or use an AC adaptor.
Battery replacement procedure
- Slide the battery cover on the back of the RW105 in the direction indicated by the arrow in the diagram, and take off the battery cover.
- Take out the old battery and insert the new one, being careful that the polarity is matched correctly.
- Slide the cover in the opposite direction from that indicated by the arrow, and attach it in its original position.

- Always check to make sure the power supply has been turned off before replacing the battery or connecting the AC adaptor.
- After replacing the battery, turn on the power supply and check to make sure the RW105 functions properly.
Memory backup
If the battery is relatively new, or when the AC adaptor is connected, programs are retained in the memory even when the power supply is turned off. To replace the battery without losing the programs in the memory, connect the AC adaptor before replacing the battery. If no AC adaptor is available, replace the battery before it has run down completely' to make sure the programs in the memory are not lost. If there is still enough battery power to light the LED, programs will be retained in the RW105 memory for about 30 seconds after the battery is removed. Replace the battery quickly in order not to lose the programs. (We recommend always keeping a spare battery on hand.)
Using the backlight
- The backlight will be turned on when you operate the POWER switch, any push switch, or the TEMPO dial, and stay on for approximately 20 seconds (from the initial operation).
- The backlight is enabled by default. If you do not wish using the backlight, you are able to disable the backlight by pressing and holding the STORE/LIGHT SET SWITCH for approximately for 2 seconds.

- POWER switch
This is used to turn the power supply on and off. - DC IN jack
This is the jack to which the AC adaptor is connected. (The IBANEZ AC109 is the optimum adaptor for use with the RW105.) - RHYTHM knobs
These are used to control the volume balance between the various sounds. - BEAT knob

- If the measured tempo exceeds the range of
= 35 ~ 250, an error message is displayed. If the tempo is between 30 and 34, message "Lo" will be displayed. (Nothing will be displayed if the tempo is 29 or less since the tempo cannot be measured.) If the tempo is 251 or higher, "Hi" is displayed.
