Before you start any machine which is controlled via data transmission, be sure to complete the configuration of all data transmission devices.      Install this device upright with the cooling slots positioned at the top and bottom of the module. The connected cables should not be bent, constricted, in close proximity to high amperage, or exposed to extreme temperatures.  Verify that there is at least 5 cm (2 in) of space above and below the device.

    Description General device description The device is an Industrial Ethernet firewall designed for secure remote connectivity and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) applications. The device helps to enable secure and reliable device-to-device and device- to-cloud communications. The gateway includes a serial (RS-232/RS-422/ RS-485) port and multiple Ethernet ports, allowing for local connectivity to devices like PAC/PLCs, RTUs, DCS systems, smart instruments, electronic billboards, and communication towers.

    Inserting the microSD card The microSD card interface uses a push/push latch mechanism to insert and remove the microSD card. Note: After inserting the microSD card, be careful NOT to eject or damage it when standing up the device.      Verify that power supply cables and data cables do not run parallel over longer distances. To reduce inductive coupling, verify that the power supply cables and data cables cross at a 90 ° angle.  Use shielded data cables for gigabit transmission via copper cables, for example SF/UTP cables according to ISO/IEC 11801.

    Making basic settings Note: 2 or more devices configured with the same IP address can cause unpredictable operation of your network.     Monitoring the ambient air temperature Operate the device below the specified maximum ambient air temperature exclusively. See “Technical data” on page 40. The ambient air temperature is the temperature of the air at a distance of 5 cm (2 in) from the device. It depends on the installation conditions of the device, for example the distance from other devices or other objects, and the output of neighboring devices.
