For your own safety, the machine must not be put into operation until the personnel carrying out the work have carefully read and understood these operating instructions and have familiarised themselves with all the functions of the machine. Keep your work area tidy. Disorder in the work area results in accident hazards. Always ensure that the working area is free of chips and other impurities. To remove chips, please use suitable aids such as chip hooks, magnets or similar. Keep the working area free of obstacles. Check your machine for damage and changes. Before each use of the machine, check the proper and intended function of the safety devices. Check the function of all moving parts, or that they are not jammed or that parts are da- maged. All parts must be correctly assembled and fulfil all conditions to ensure proper operation of the machine. Immediately report any changes to the machine that affect safety and do not operate it. Damaged guards and parts must be properly repaired or replaced by our customer ser- vice or by qualified personnel. Keep unauthorised persons away Ensure that there are no other persons in the working area who could be endangered. Children and visitors should always be kept at a safe distance from the work area. Keep children away. Secure workshop and work area from unauthorised entry. Take care of your tools with care. Keep your tools sharp and clean to work well and safely. Follow the maintenance inst- ructions and the instructions for changing tools. Keep handles dry and free from grease and oil. Alcohol, medication, drugs Never operate the machine under the influence of alcohol, medication or drugs. For the safe and proper use of the machine, the user must meet the following requirements: 1. physical and mental fitness of the user 2. knowledge and understanding of the operating instructions 3. users who have physical, sensory or mental limitations must not operate the machine without the supervision of an instructed, responsible person. 4. persons who have not been instructed must be kept away from the machine. Intended use Only use the machine in compliance with the technical data in these operating instructions. This machine is intended exclusively for cold forming of metals with suitable simple or compound tools. The machine may only be operated in technically perfect condition and must be shut down immediately in the event of defects that have an influence on safety. Prohibited and potentially dangerous applications Avoid overloading the machine due to improper use. This can cause damage to the machine and endanger the operator. All work, manipulations or changes to the safety devices are prohibited. Do not dismantle any safety devices or put them out of operation! Repair and maintenance work must be carried out by Knuth service technicians or by qualified specialists. Safety devices may be dismantled for repair and maintenance work. After completion of the repair and maintenance work, all safety directions must be reassembled and their function checked. The machine can then be put back into operation. Further notes Transport damage Check that the machine and accessories are intact and complete. Transport damage must be noted on the carrier‘s consignment note and reported to us. Complaints must be reported to the supplier immediately, stating the machine number.
