  • Page 8: Temperature

The best operating temperature for FAAM HPS series batteries is 20°C. At a temperature of 20°C, FAAM batteries can be discharged to 100% of their rated capacity. If the ambient temperature is different from the indicated value, you can operate in the following ways: Operate at room temperature, using an air conditioning system, increasing ventilation (natural or forced) or changing the position of the accumulators.
  • Page 9: Operativity

Maintenance operations • FAAM HPS series batteries can be used both cyclically and in float mode. Use as maintenance is where the best performance is achieved. Batteries are always in full charge and last longer under these conditions. When using in buffer, adjust the voltage to room temperature...
  • Page 10: Equalization Charge

HPS SERIES BATTERIES Equalization charge Batteries tend to lose charge during transport and during long periods of storage. FAAM HPS Series batteries must be subjected to equalization charging if the following conditions are met: - After the system is installed, the batteries need additional charging.
  • Page 11: Storage

    — The self-discharge rate is related to the ambient temperature. The degree of self-discharge is lower when the ambient temperature is lower. The ambient storage temperature of FAAM HPS series batteries ranges from 0°C to 35°C. The storage location must be clean, ventilated, and dry.

    7. Maintenance To ensure the expected life, batteries must be properly inspected and maintained. For the maintenance methods of the FAAM FMR series batteries the following is recommended: Monthly maintenance: — Implement the check in the summary sheet every month.
  • Page 13 USE AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL Pag. 13 of 14 HPS SERIES BATTERIES Triennial maintenance: — Perform a capability test, once every three years and once a year after the "six years" operation. If the battery capacity is less than 80% of the rated capacity, the battery must be replaced.
