Figure 3 is the available capacity curve as a function of ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is not 20°C, you need to change the measured capacity to the actual capacity at 20°C according to the following formula: Ce = CT /(1 + K (T-20)) T = Ambient temperature...

The best operating temperature for FAAM STA-STAM series batteries is 20°C. At a temperature of 20°C, FAAM batteries can be discharged to 100% of their rated capacity. If the ambient temperature is different from the indicated value, you can operate in the following ways: —...
  • Page 13: Operativity

+45°C. The best ambient temperature is 20°C Maintenance operation FAAM STA series and STAM series batteries can be used both cyclically and in maintenance. Use as maintenance is where the best performance is achieved. The batteries are always in the condition of maximum charge and in these conditions they last longer.
  • Page 14 Pag. 14 of 18 STA-STAM SERIES BATTERIES Equalization charge Batteries tend to lose charge during transport as well as during long periods of storage. FAAM STA- STAM series batteries must be subjected to equalization charging if the following conditions are met: - After the system is installed, the batteries need an additional charge.
  • Page 15: Storage

    — The rate of self-discharge is correlated with the ambient temperature. The degree of self- discharge is lower when the ambient temperature is lower, otherwise it increases. The ambient storage temperature of FAAM STA-STAM series batteries ranges from 0°C to 35°C. The storage location should be clean, ventilated, and dry. The recommended temperature is between 10°C and 30°C.
