Section 2. Getting started Storing the instrument The instrument can be placed in short-term storage (for several weeks) without any special preparations. For longer-term storage (longer than a month), we recommend that you remove the batteries from the case and clean and dry the instrument exter- ior with a soft damp (not dripping) cloth and mild detergent if needed.
Figure 2-2. The blue caps and foam pad protect the inlet, outlet, and network cable con- nector during shipping. Install the caps and pad when you ship the instrument. Shipping lithium-ion batteries Many new LI-COR instruments include removable lithium-ion batteries. We recom- mend that you ship these batteries when shipping your instrument to the fact- do not ory.

Section 3. Using the LI-7825 Check the CO zero (daily) Readings from the LI-7825 CO Isotope/NH Trace Gas Analyzer should be checked against a CO zero standard on a daily basis to ensure accurate readings. If the zero has drifted, it should be adjusted following the procedure in Setting the span and zero on page 6-2.
Contact LI-COR technical support (envsupport@licor.com) if you have questions about your application. A typical sampling application will use the LI-7825 to subsample a gas from a main sample line. Air passes a single time through the gas analyzer before it is discharged.
Reduced flow rate Two reduced flow rate kits have been produced for LI-COR Trace Gas Analyzers. Both kits enable the analyzer to operate at a nominal flow rate near 70 sccm, rather than the standard nominal flow rate near 250 sccm. One of the kits is required to use the configuration.
Page 35
Section 3. Using the LI-7825 Observe the orientation of the T-fitting. In early models, this tube comes off of the stem of the T. In later models, it comes off of the cross of the T. In either case, the tube connects the T-fitting to the pump.

Section 3. Using the LI-7825 When prompted, click to proceed. Yes, I'm sure The instrument will restart and initialize with the reduced flow rate con- figuration. If you want to restore the normal flow rate, remove the reduced flow rate kit, change the instrument configuration to and restart.
Section 3. Using the LI-7825 Retrieving data from the instrument The LI-7825 records all of its data after it has warmed up. There is no way to turn data logging on or off because data are always logged. When used with the Smart Chamber or LI-8250 Multiplexer, measured values are transferred automatically to the Smart Chamber or LI-8250.

Section 6. Maintenance Replacing the purge dry-down chemical Replacement desiccant (622-17627) is included with the instrument spares. The desic- cant, consisting of silica gel beads, is contained in a non-porous tube (see Figure 6-2 below). The instrument will pump air through the desiccant tube during power-off to purge the optics of water vapor.
Page 70
The tube will open and the silica gel beads will spill in the case. It is a situation easily avoided by tightening the clamp screws securely. LI-7825 CO₂ Isotope/NH₃ Gas Analyzer...
Section 6. Maintenance Regenerating the desiccant Indicating silica gel can be regenerated in a drying oven. This preparation of silica gel is green when it is saturated and orange when it is new or restored. Figure 6-3. Active and saturated desiccant. Preheat the oven to 120 °C (248 °F).
You can check for updates through the interface (click Settings > Software > ) or on the LI-COR technical sup- Check port website. Download the updater application and install it on your com- puter (Windows only).
Section 7. Communication with the MQTT protocol The LI-7825 Trace Gas Analyzers can communicate with devices using the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol. MQTT is a machine-to-machine communication protocol that supports many programming languages, described at github.com/mqtt/mqtt.github.io/wiki/libraries. The instrument uses the Eclipse Mos- quito, an open source MQTT broker.
