Dust Collection

This machine creates substantial amounts of
wood dust while in operation. Failure to use a
dust collection system and wear a dust mask
may result in short and long-term respiratory
illness.
Although not required, we recommend that you
install a dust hood and connect it to an adequate
dust collection system. At the very least, wear
a dust mask to protect your lungs from sawdust
inhalation. If you do decide to use a dust collec-
tion system, the Model G4839 dust hood (shown
in Figure 24) is available through Grizzly and will
provide a quick and easy way to connect your
shaper to a dust collector.

with the current Grizzly catalog or our website at
www.grizzly.com to purchase.
To properly collect dust from this shaper, your
dust collection system must be able to move at
least 350 CFM at the point where you connect the
dust hose to the machine.
If you are unclear about determining CFM and
static pressure loss for given lengths of dust
hose, Grizzly offers a book called Dust Collection
Basics (Model G2525) that is inexpensive and
makes dust collection logistics very simple.
