Maintenance Instructions
CAUTION
POWERING REQUIREMENT
When removing power from this system, disconnect
batteries FIRST and AC power last. When connecting
power to this system, connect AC power FIRST and
batteries last.

The local printer is mounted on the right-hand side of the BMUX front panel and is controlled by the printer
controller board (562-095). Access is obtained by opening the door and the front panel of the BMUX. The
maintenance instructions provided in this publication tell you:

HOW TO REPLACE THE PRINTER PAPER
Paper Replacement (See Figure 1)
1. Press paper ADVANCE button on front of printer.
ADVANCE paper until printed portion is on take-
up reel.
2. Lift latch tab (1) and swing side panel (4) open.
3. Tear paper at edge of each roll (two places).
4. Remove center shaft (2) from take-up shaft,
5. Remove roll of paper from take-up shaft and
store.
6. Remove roll of paper on supply reel and discard.
7. Press paper ADVANCE button, remove torn
portion of paper and discard.
8. Place new roll of paper on supply shaft. Loosen
end of paper and ensure that it will feed to printer
and PC board assembly from rear of printer.
9. Feed end of paper through printer assembly and
base plate to paper guide, pressing paper
ADVANCE button to pull paper through assembly.
(Figure 2 shows locations.) Leave 14-16 inches of
paper free for loading.
10. Feed paper through slot at top of paper guide.
11. Insert paper (3) into slotted shaft and reassemble
center (2) to captivate end of paper.
12. Rotate take-up shaft by pressing paper
ADVANCE button.

13. Remove slack from paper by pressing REWIND
button.
14. Test printer by entering a command on keyboard
(TIM).
15. Close side panel (4) and lock in place by pressing
tab (1) down.
