The beds have a low minimum height so patients can be lowered near the floor for sleeping.

    Moving the Bed the castors. Standard Walmsley beds are fitted with four toe brake castors. Once the bed is in position, lock the wheels by pushing down on the pedals. Models fitted with Central Locking: (i.e. Models with code numbers ending in ‘C’.) The central locking lever at the foot of the bed has three positions.

    Warning. The bed should be left in its lowest position with the mattress base in a flat profile when unattended in order to reduce the risk of patient injury due to falls while getting into or out of the bed, or whilst lying on the bed.

    Bed Maintenance Servicing and maintenance of this bed may only be performed by personnel who have received the necessary training and instruction.
