Mono 1 Mono System 1.1 System Schemac Figure 1-1.1: System schematic Mono is an integrated air to water heat pump system which is one-stop soluon for space heang, space cooling and dome- sc hot water, The outdoor heat pump system extracts heat from the outdoor air and transfers this heat through refrige- rant piping to the plate heat exchanger in the hydronic system.

Mono 1.2 System Configuraons Mono can be configured to run with the electric heater either enabled or disabled and can also be used in conjuncon with an auxiliary heat source such as a boiler. The chosen configuraon affects the size of heat pump that is required. Three typical configuraons are described below. Refer to Figure 1-1.2.
Mono 4 System Design and Unit Selecon 4.1 Selecon Procedure Step 1: Total heat load calculaon Calculate condioned surface area Select the heat emiers (type, quantity, water temperature and heat load) Step 2: System configuraon Decide whether to include AHS and set AHS’s switching temperature Decide whether backup electric heater is enabled or disabled Step 3: Selecon of outdoor units Determine required total heat load on outdoor units...

Mono 1 Preface to Part 3 Notes for Installers Boxes The informaon contained in this Engineering Data Book may primarily be of use during the system design stage of a Mono project. Addional important informaon which may primarily be of use during field installaon has been placed in boxes, such as the example below, tled “Notes for installers”.
Mono 2 Installaon Acceptance and Unpacking Notes for installers When units are delivered check whether any damage occurred during shipment. If there is damage to the surface or outside of a unit, submit a wrien report to the shipping company. ...

Mono Outdoor units should be installed in well-drained, well-venlated posions. Outdoor units should be installed in posions that are as close as possible to the heat emiers. Outdoor units should be installed in posions that are sufficiently close to the desired posion of the wired controller that the controller’s wiring length limitaon will not be exceeded.
Page 61
Mono Cold Climate Installaon In cold climate locaons installaon should take account of the following consideraons: Figure 3-2.4: Snow shielding Never install the unit at a site where the sucon side may be exposed directly to wind. To prevent exposure to wind, install a baffle plate on the air discharge side of the unit. To prevent exposure to wind, install the unit with its sucon side facing the wall.

Mono Drainage Drainage ditch should be provided to allow drainage of condensate that may form on the air side heat exchanger when the unit is running in heang mode or domesc hot water mode. The drainage should ensure that condensate is directed away from roadways and footpaths, especially in locaons where the climate is such that condensate may freeze.

Mono 3 Water Pipework Water Circuit Checks Mono units are equipped with a water inlet and outlet for connecon to a water circuit. Mono units should only be connec- ted to closed water circuits. Connecon to an open water circuit would lead to excessive corrosion of the water piping. Only materials complying with all applicable legislaon should be used.
Page 65
Mono Water Circuit Connection Water connecons must be made correctly in accordance with the labels on the outdoor unit, with respect to the water inlet and water outlet. If air, moisture or dust gets in the water circuit, problems may occur. Therefore, always take into account the following when connecng the water circuit: Use clean pipes only.
Mono As a result, the hydraulic components might freeze up aer all. Take prevenve acons to ensure a minimal exposure of the glycol to air. Due to the presence of glycol, corrosion of the system is possible. Uninhibited glycol will turn acidic under the influence of oxygen.
Mono 4 Electrical Wiring General Notes for installers Cauon All installaon and wiring must be carried out by competent and suitably qualified, cerfied and accredited professionals and in accordance with all applicable legislaon. Electrical systems should be grounded in accordance with all applicable legislaon. ...
Mono Make sure no external pressure is applied to the terminal connectors. When installing the ground fault circuit interrupter make sure that it is compable with the inverter (resistant to high frequency electrical noise) to avoid unnecessary opening of the ground fault circuit interrupter This unit is equipped with an inverter.
