If the system does not seem to operate as it should, after re-reading these operating instructions carefully, check the chart below:

Power does not turn on.

The indicators in the

Sound comes from only
one speaker.
The display is strange,
The Dower cord is not connected DroDerlv,
Correct the connections.

The flat cables are not connected properly.
An incorrect function button was oressed.
Correct the connection,

Press a function button to select the correct inwt.

There is a bad connection
between units.
Correct the connection.

There isashort
circuit inthe speaker jack.
The breaker tripped because ofaconnection
toalow-
impedance speaker,
Disconnect the ACpowercord,
correct thecondition,
including speaker connections, and then connect the
power again, Turn on the power by pressing the
POWER button.
If the clock display is flashing, set the clock again
(page 13)..
Correct the speaker connection.
A speaker is disconnected.
The microprocessor
has been electronically
affected.
With the MEMORY button pressed down, turn the
power back on. (All stored settings will be erased
from the system.)
The antenna is not connected properly.
The station is not correctlv tuned,
Check the antenna connection,
Correct the tunina.
The signal is too weak.
The system is picking up outside noise.
Install an outside antenna.
Change the location or direction of the antenna.
Turn the system to a different orientation.
Move the system away from other electrical
appliances,
such as a TV, fluorescent
lights, or
move the appliances.
There is multi-path distortion.
Change the orientation of the antenna.
Replace the antenna with one that has the correct
orientation

The ta~e does not run.
Press II PAUSE to release the ~ause
Deck 2 is Daused,

The sound is off-balance.
High sounds are too loud.
The head is ditty.
The Dolby NR mode is set differently
from when the
recordina was done.
Clean the head.
Reset the Dolby NR.

There are no high
frequencies,
A tape recorded without Dolby NR is being played back in
the Dolbv NR
mode.
Turn off the Dolby NR.
The head is dirty,
Clean the head.
~"] There is no recording.
The erasure prevention tab on the tape has been removed.
Cover the erasure prevention hole with cellophane
taoe.
There is an incorrect connection.
Correct the connection.
The head is dirtv.
Clean the head oro~erlv
The erase head is dirty.
The vocal fader is on.
Clean the erase head.
Press the KARAOKE
button to turn it off.
The disc is not set correctly.
The disc is dirtv,
Set the disc with the label facing up.
Clean the disc.
Moisture has condensed.
Leave
the system with the power on for some time.
Playback becomes possible.
Press the -
PLAY/PAUSE button to release the ~ause.
Plavback is ~aused.
Press the KARAOKE button to turn it off.
The vocal fader is on.
