Problem
Moisture forms on
outside of refrigerator
Moisture collects inside
(in humid weather, air
carries moisture into
refrigerator when doors
are opened)
Refrigerator compartment
light does not work
Door does not close
by itself
Freezer door pops open
when refrigerator door
is closed
Hot air from bottom
of refrigerator
Food freezing in
the refrigerator
Red glow in the freezer
Handle is loose / handle
has a gap
Refrigerator beeping
Possible Causes
Not unusual during
periods of high humidity.
Too frequent or too
long door openings.
No power at outlet.
Light bulb burned out or loose.
Leveling legs need adjusting.
This is normal if, after popping
open, the freezer door closed
on its own.
Normal air flow cooling
motor. In the refrigeration
process, it is normal that
heat be expelled in the
area under the refrigerator.
Some floor coverings will
discolor at these normal
and safe temperatures.
Food too close to the air vent
at the back of the refrigerator.
Refrigerator control is set
too cold.
Defrost heater is on.
Handle needs adjusting.
This is the door alarm.
What To Do
• Wipe surface dry and reset the refrigerator control
one setting colder.
•Replace fuse or reset the breaker.
•See Replacing the light bulbs.
•See Installing the Refrigerator.
• This indicates that there is a good seal on the freezer
door. If the freezer door does not automatically close
after popping open, then see the Problem: Door does
not close by itself, above.
• Move the food away from the air vent (near the controls).
•Move the refrigerator control to a warmer
temperature setting one increment at a time.
• This is normal.
