OLT512EVO -
1U - 8 Ports GPON OLT
Ref. 769403
(OLT512EVO)
Description
Optical Line Terminal (OLT) designed to provide
broadband access through a Passive Optical
Network (PON). GPON (Gigabit PON) interfaces are
used to connect the Distribution Optical Network
(PON).
It allows connecting up to 64 optical subscriber
terminals, through a single fiber for each of the PON
interfaces.
Access to the carrier's transport network is provided
through 10-Gigabit and 1-Gigabit interfaces, which
can be mixed.
The OLT512EVO allows operators to create "the
last mile" of distribution, guaranteeing the highest
security standards. The OLT512EVO manages the
optical end devices, the traffic switching and the
Features
- Standard G.984.1/2/3/4 (GPON).
- 8 GPON SFP ports. Class C+ and B+ transceivers for
the different service ranges.
- 19-inch rack chassis (1U). Easy installation due to
its compact size.
- Various interfaces for network applications.
- High availability network deployment.
Important safety instructions
Safe installation
- Read these instructions before handling or connecting
the equipment. Keep these instructions. Heed all
warnings. Follow all instructions.
- Clean only with dry cloth.
- Do not use this apparatus near water. Apparatus shall
not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects
filled with liquids, such as glasses, shall be placed on the
apparatus.
- Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. - Please
allow air circulation around the equipment.
- Do not place the equipment in a highly humid
environment.
- Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat
registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers)
that produce heat. Do not place naked flames, such as
lighted candles on or near the product.
- Do not place the equipment in a place where it can suffer
vibrations or shocks.
- Only use attachments/accessories specified by the
manufacturer.
Safe operation of equipment connected to the mains
supply
- Ambient temperature should not be higher than 45°C.
- Power requirements for this product are: 110-230V~
50/60Hz.
- It is strongly recommended not to connect the equipment
connection to the transport network.
The FTTx (Fiber-to-the-x) architecture offers a high
quality solution to provide Triple Play services, as it
provides high data speeds over long distances. With
FTTx, broadband passive optical networks (PON),
allow several users to use the same link at the same
time, without the need to use active elements, that
is, electrical components that regenerate the signal.
The main advantage of PON technology is the
absence of electrical power, within the OLT to ONT
section, which greatly reduces the cost of network
operation. In addition, PON technology saves on
cabling infrastructure, by reducing the total length
of the optical fiber, since a single fiber is used for a
group of up to 64 subscribers.
- Redundant power supply (hot swappable).
- Temperature control. Fan control.
- Management via Web, SNMP, CLI.
- Possibility TV (RFoG) and data in the same Fiber.
- Optimal solution for the Hospitality and
Residential sector.
- Cost effective solution, compact design.
to the mains supply until all connections have been done.
- The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment
and shall be easily accessible.
- To disconnect the equipment from the mains supply pull
the plug never the cable.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched
particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the
point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when
unused for long periods of time.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing
is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any
way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid
has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus,
the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does
not operate normally, or has been dropped.
Caution / Shock hazard /
Disconnect all power sources
Warning
- Reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this
apparatus to rain or moisture.
- This apparatus with CLASS I construction shall be
connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective
earthing connection.
FIBREDATA
The OLT512EVO supports 2 redundant hot-
swappable power supplies.
GPON. Set of ITU-T G.984.x recommendations where
the techniques for sharing a common medium

- Advanced functionality, massive implementation
of Triple-Play.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or
grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades
with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug
has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide
blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If
the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an
electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
- The fuse must be replaced by an instructed person. Fuse
characteristics T3.15A L 250V
Handling optical connections
- Fiber cable must be used according to the optical
transceivers used with the OLT512EVO.
- Keep the connector covers and cable caps in a safe place
in case they are needed in the future.
- Carefully align the guides on both connectors when
plugging a cable to the device, then push the connector
all the way in.
- Take special care to avoid damaging the unprotected
ends of the connectors, as small scratches, impurities and/
or particles of dirt, oil, grease, sweat, etc. may significantly
affect the quality of the signal.
- To clean the ends of the connectors, gently rub with a lint-
free lens cleaning cloth, dampened using additive-free
isopropyl alcohol. Make sure the alcohol evaporates fully
before connecting.
- Always fit the covers on the connectors of devices that are
not connected to cables to prevent the laser beam from
damaging the eyes.
