    KW991-ND/SD SMIDS Display Operators Guide Keypad Functions Press to turn off display. Press to turn on display. Increases Illumination level. Decreases illumination level. The lowest levels of illumination are unstable as a facet of the display, but outside its spec. They are provided knowing they will be useful. Press to turn the off course alarm on or off.

CLEANING THE SCREEN The standard unit is fitted with a plastic anti-glare display filter. This filter material is soft the same as a computer screen and easily scratched.

    OFF COURSE ALARM The alarm is OFF when disabled or the limit window is set to zero. The display and audio alarms become active by toggling the button. The Off Course Alarm compares the set heading and the actual heading ideally they should always stay the same. If the set heading and actual heading diverged by more than the window setting, the alarm will be raised.
  • Page 17 Nexus 7 Portable Display KW995-N7 The Nexus 7 comes with an AC/DC adapter and micro USB cable for charging the internal battery. Three layers of defence include a polycarbonate inner layer, built-in screen shield and silicone outer layer. All buttons and features are fully accessible through the Nexus 7 Defender Series case The two-piece plastic shell snaps together to protect the device from impact.

How it Works The SMIDS positional and speed data along with the ship’s heading is displayed on the Nexus 7 tablet from any remote position which is in the line of sight from the Bluetooth cB-RBS433 unit.

    Fault Finding Loss of SMIDS Speed or Position If it is found that both the Bow and Stern speed indications are missing and the GPS position is still displayed check the GYRO input as this is critical to calculate the SMIDS speeds. If the Bow SMIDS speed only indication is lost then follow the following steps for the Bow sensor.
