Symptom
The memory is
full, but the device
malfunctions or does
not play back files.
After saving hundreds
of files in the root
folder, iAUDIO does
not work or malfunc-
tions.

Action
Initialize the product, and resend
the files with 1 to 2 MB of free
space.
The limit to the number of files
that can be saved in the root
folder is strict in Windows 98.
And even for Windows 2000
and XP, it is advisable to create
subfolders to categorize the files.
Description
The settings.dat file, a key system
file, is stored in the root folder of flash
memory. When this file is not stored
properly, or deleted/damaged during
file transfer, malfunctions may occur.
iAUDIO uses the FAT file system. Due to
the limitations of FAT, you are advised not to
store many files in the root folder.
