home screen:

1 Signal Strength Indicator – Vertical bars
show the strength of the network
connection. You can't make or receive
calls when ! or ) shows.
2 EDGE/GPRS Indicator – Shows
when your phone is using a
high-speed Enhanced Data for GSM
Evolution (EDGE) or General Packet Radio

4 Roam Indicator – Shows ã when
your phone is seeking or using a
network outside your home network.
5 PTT / Active Line Indicator – Shows
when you can make and receive
PTT calls (m) or both PTT calls and
Instant Messages (p). This also shows
? to indicate an active phone call, or >
to indicate when call diverting is on.
Indicators for dual-line-enabled SIM cards
can include:
@ = line 1 A = line 1 active, call
active divert on
B = line 2 C = line 2 active, call
active divert on
To dial a number from the home screen, press
number keys and N.
Press S up, down, left, or right in the home
screen to open basic menu features.
Press the centre key s to open the menu.
Soft Key Labels show the current soft key
functions. For soft key locations, see page 1.

6 Message Indicator – Shows when
you receive a new message.
Indicators can include:
É = text Ë = voice

è= voice & text message
Ñ = IM message
7 Ring Style Indicator – Shows the ring
style setting.
õ = loud ring Ì = vibrate & ring
ô = soft ring ö = vibrate then
ring
Î = vibrate Í = silent
8 Battery Level Indicator – Vertical bars
show the battery charge level. Recharge
the battery when your phone shows Low
Battery.
