INTENDED USE The Aerobika ® Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure Therapy System is intended for use as a Positive Expiratory Pressure (PEP) device. The Aerobika ® Oscillating PEP device may also be used simultaneously with nebulized aerosol drug delivery. The device is intended to be used by patients capable of generating exhalation flow of 10 lpm for 3–4 seconds. - Page 5 DETERMINING PROPER RESISTANCE SETTING The Aerobika ® Oscillating PEP device should be set up by a healthcare professional using the following steps: 1. Start with the Resistance Indicator at the lowest setting. (Fig. 2) FIGURE 2 2. With the patient in a comfortable seated position, have them inhale through the device taking a deeper breath than normal, but not to total lung capacity, then exhale briskly but not forcefully through the device.

6. Continue taking deep breaths and long exhalations for 10–20 breaths, or as instructed by your healthcare professional. After at least 10 breaths, perform 2–3 ‘huff coughs’ to clear your airways. Your healthcare professional will instruct you on the proper technique. For maximum efficacy, try to suppress coughing until the end of your treatment. -

A. TAKING THE DEVICE APART • Press the Attachment Tabs on either side of the device. Holding the tabs in, gently pull up on the top case until the two parts separate. • Remove the valve cartridge. Do not disassemble any part of the cartridge. - Page 8 HIGH LEVEL DISINFECTION If considered clinically necessary for the patients’ disease state, the device may be cleaned after each use and disinfected once each treatment day. STERILE water must be used for rinsing. A. BOILING Place the four disassembled parts in a pot when boiling point has been reached and allow to boil for 5 minutes. Remove from water and allow parts to cool and air dry thoroughly before reassembly.

FINALIDAD DE USO El propósito del sistema de tratamiento con presión espiratoria positiva oscilante Aerobika ® es su uso como dispositivo de presión espiratoria positiva (PEP). El dispositivo de PEP oscilante Aerobika ® también puede usarse simultáneamente con la administración de medicamentos en aerosol nebulizados. El dispositivo es para que lo usen pacientes capaces de generar un flujo de espiración de 10 lpm durante 3 o 4 segundos. - Page 11 PREPARACIÓN DEL DISPOSITIVO DE PEP OSCILANTE AEROBIKA ® Vea la descripción del dispositivo en la Figura 1.
