gauze filter is in place (see illustration), once filled,
ensure the filler cap is correctly re-fitted. Mop up
any small spillages.
The head can be tilted to suit the situation, to
adjust the head' s position, pull and hold the head lock
bar and tilt the head as required. Once in position,
release the head lock bar to lock the head.
All that remains is to plug the heater into its power
supply and switch ON.
BASIC TECHNIQUES
There is a built in 'flame out' safety system to
protect the heater if the flame is extinguished. This
system operates if the unit either runs out of fuel
or the flame is accidentally extinguished.
To switch the heater ON move the ON/OFF switch
to the 'I' position. The heater fan will run and the heat
head will ignite after a few seconds.
If the unit fails to ignite, the safety cut-out system
will switch the fan OFF and a red warning lamp
will illuminate. To re-set the heater, switch the
heater OFF , press the red re-set button then switch
the heater ON again.
If the fuel tank has been allowed to run dry, it
may take several attempts before the heater
works properly.
When the heater is no longer required, switch
the unit OFF by moving the ON/OFF switch to the
'0' position.
Once switched OFF , the fan will continue to run
for approximately three minutes to cool the head.
DO NOT disconnect the heater from its power
supply until the fan has stopped.
EQUIPMENT CARE
Never push the equipment beyond its design
limits. If it will not do what you want, assume you have
the wrong size or type of heater for the job. Contact your
local HSS Hire Shop for advice.
Keep the heater clean - you will find this less of a chore
if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the end of
the hire period.
When not in use, store the heater somewhere clean,
dry and safe from thieves.
FINISHING OFF
Move the heater' s ON/OFF switch to the '0'
position and allow the fan to cool the head. Once
the fan has stopped, disconnect the unit from its
power supply.
Allow the heater to cool completely before neatly
coiling the power supply cable then give the unit
a final clean up ready for return to your local HSS
Hire Shop.
