To fix a "No COM" error on a Balboa BP501 spa pack, follow these steps:

Can I jumper the J44 terminal? It is the little white square pegs that supply 240V one leg goes to the heating element & the other 120V goes to the spa pump. My question is can I Jump the heating circuit from pin to pin?

    MAINTENANCE DO NOT open the strainer pot if pump fails to prime or if pump has been operating without water in the strainer pot. Pumps operated in these circumstances may experience a build up of vapor pressure and may contain scalding hot water. Opening the pump may cause serious personal injury.

    SERVICING Always disconnect power to the pump at the circuit breaker and disconnect the communication cable before servicing the pump. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury to service people, users or others due to electric shock. Read all servicing instructions before working on the pump.

    DO NOT run the pump dry. If the pump is run dry, the mechanical seal will be damaged and the pump will start leaking. If this occurs, the damaged seal must be replaced. ALWAYS maintain proper water level. If the water level falls below the suction port, the pump will draw air through the suction port, losing the prime and causing the pump to run dry, resulting in a damaged seal.

When the lock ring is installed properly and operated without air in the water system, this filter will operate in a safe manner. 2. The maximum working pressure of this filter is 50 psi. Never subject this filter to pressure in excess of this amount - even when conducting hydrostatic pressure tests.

    F. CLEANING THE HIGH FLOW™ MANUAL AIR RELIEF VALVE 1. Turn the pump off and shut off any automatic controls to ensure that the system is not inadvertently started during servicing. 2. OPEN THE HIGH FLOW™ MANUAL AIR RELIEF VALVE UNTIL IT SNAPS INTO THE FULL OPEN POSITION, THEN WAIT UNTIL ALL PRESSURE IS RELIEVED.
