    BATTERY ACTIVATION / BATTERY LIFE INDICATOR Before first use: Remove the battery compartment cover by lifting the battery cover tab and then rotating the cover counter-clockwise. Remove and discard the plastic disc covering the positive battery terminal, then replace the battery cover. NOTE: It is recommended that the CR2 3-volt lithium battery be replaced at least once every 12 months.
