    Operation 15. If you are using the appliance for the first time, you should: a. Clean the exterior of the appliance with warm water & dishwashing liquid with a non-abrasive sponge. DO NOT use metal scouring pads. b. Place and use the appliance upright on a horizontal, stable, dry and heat-resistant surface.

Using the appliance with clogged filters puts additional strain on the motor. Prompt removal of dust and dirt not only improves the efficiency of the appliance but only extends its working life.
