Tellabs FlexSym BOLT OLT Installation and Turnup Guide Description-bolt OVERVIEW The Tellabs FlexSym ® BOLT Optical Line Terminal (FlexSym BOLT) is a multi-purpose Optical Line Terminal (OLT) enabling open, simple, and scalable connectivity for wired and wireless access over fiber. It supports multiple technologies, massive bandwidth, and in a compact form factor, enabling flexible design options for both fixed and mobile connectivity. - Page 6 Tellabs FlexSym BOLT OLT Installation and Turnup Guide FlexSym BOLT has high-performance Intel processor that allows for the support of future technologies. It can be purchased with either a 4 core or 8 core processors enabling either more cost- effective solutions today, or additional compute for future proofing investment protection (e.g. future routing, firewall, and SDN capabilities).

Laptop Computer: A laptop computer is only required if the network is not set up for ZTP. This laptop would · be used for manual turnup of the BOLT OLT and proper configuration of the uplink interfaces. Warning! Do not open the enclosure unless directed to do so by Tellabs technical support. Doing so is dangerous and voids the warranty. Check that the DC power supply polarity is correct. The system will not be damaged by reversed polarity but ·... - Page 10 Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Observe and follow all ESD instructions while handling Tellabs plug-in equipment. Caution! The Tellabs plug-in equipment uses semiconductor devices that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Do not remove a plug-in from a protective packing box or equipment rack until time of installation or replacement. To equalize the static charge on the plug-in, establish a body path to ground using an ESD wrist strap connected to a ESD ground.

Use only the approved optical modules shown in the site preparation section. There are 16 PON positions on the front left side. There are four SFP+ positions for the 10GE modules, four QSFP+ positions for the 40GE modules, and two QSFP28 positions for the 100GE modules.

PON Link Indicates connection status of At least one provisioned serial number exists and is failed (LOPL-LOS) or attached ONTs.

The BOLT is equipped with an Console Serial RJ45 interface which provides direct access to the Command Line Interface (CLI) found on all Tellabs OLTs. To use this interface, attach a standard Cisco serial cable from the OLT Console port to any serial port or USB to serial cable. - Page 16 Tellabs FlexSym BOLT OLT Installation and Turnup Guide BOLT can be accessed via SSHv2 via the IP address that is assigned by DHCP or via the static IP address defined by the turnup wizard. ZTP functionality requires that the ztp URL either be explicitly set, or be obtained via DHCP. See the ZTP documentation for more details on the setup.

VLAN Priority Defines the 802.3P layer 2 priority bits for management packets. It is recommended that the default setting of 7 be used to ensure management traffic continues to flow even if the link becomes oversubscribed.
