• Connecting any other adapter to
this jack could damage your CB.
• Connecting the battery charger to
the PWB jack could damage the
charger.
• Never connect a power source to
this jack if you have installed non-
rechargeable batteries in your CB.
Non-rechargeable
batteries
be-
come very hot and can explode if
you try to recharge them.
It takes 10 to 18 hours to recharge bat-
teries that are fully discharged. You
cannot operate your CB while you
charge batteries.
Charging Hints:
Nickel-cadmium batteries last longer
and deliver more power if you oc-
casionally let them discharge com-
pletely. To do this, simply use the CB

CONNECTING AN
EXTERNAL ANTENNA
Your CB includes a telescoping anten-
na that is ideal for most applications.
However, for mobile or base station
use, you might want to connect an ex-
ternal antenna.
The ANT (antenna) jack on your CB
makes it easy to connect an external
mobile antenna or outdoor base anten-
na. Connect the antenna lead-in cable
to the ANT jack by using a PL-259-to-
BCA plug adapter.
For best performance when using an
external antenna do not extend the
telescoping antenna.
CONNECTING AN
EXTENSION SPEAKER
For noisy environments, you can con-
nect an extension speaker (or ear-
phone) to provide more comfortable
listening. Plug the speaker cable's 1/8-
inch (3.5 mm) mini-plug into the Exter-
nal SP (speaker) jack. You can find
these accessories at your local Radio
Shack store.
You automatically disconnect the inter-
nal speaker when you plug in the exter-
nal speaker (or earphone).
CONNECTING AN
EXTEFINAL MICROPHONE
lf you use this CB at home or in your
vehicle, we recommend that you use
an external microphone (Cat. No. 21-
1172). Plug the 5-pin DIN plug into the
CB's EXT MIC jack.
