BEFORE FIRST USE
1.
Remove all packing materials and stickers from the brewer (except for
the rating label).
2.
Gently wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth or paper towel.
Never immerse the brewer, its base, cord, or plug in water or any other
liquid.
3.
Rinse the coffee filter with water. Wash the capsule receptacle with a
sponge and warm, soapy water. Dry completely.
4.
Before brewing for the first time, insert the empty capsule receptacle
and use the instructions that follow to "brew" a full, 14-oz cup of hot
water with NO coffee grounds. This will prime the unit for use and
®
clean out any dust that may have accumulated during shipping.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1.
Make sure the unit is unplugged and cooled.
2.
Remove the capsule receptacle and discard the K-Cup®, or remove the
reusable coffee filter and discard the grounds. Rinse the receptacle
and coffee filter with water, and dry completely.
3.
Leave the lid in the open position so the brewer can fully dry.
4.
Rinse the removable rubber trivet with water and wipe down the base
of the unit with a damp cloth or sponge, if necessary. Dry completely.
5.
Never immerse the brewer or its plug in water. The brewer and its
accessories are NOT dishwasher safe.
6.
To decalcify the brewer, use the self-cleaning function described on
p. 15 of the User Guide, as needed.
HOW TO OPERATE
STEP 1
If using a K-Cup® pod, insert the capsule
receptacle into the brew chamber first, then
add the K-Cup®. If using the reusable coffee
filter, fill it with ground coffee, then insert it
into the unit without the receptacle.
NOTE: If using a K-Cup®, press on it firmly
until you hear it being punctured.
STEP 2
Fill the water tank with at least 6 oz
of water, but no more than 14 oz.
STEP 3
Push the lid of the brewer down
until it clicks into place. If necessary,
plug in the unit.
STEP 4
Place a heatproof cup or mug onto
the lift. If using a small mug, raise
the movable lift first, making sure
it clicks into place. (To lower the lift,
press the arrow on the lift button
and push the lift all the way down.)
STEP 5
Press the brew button. The indicator light will turn red while the
unit heats up and dispenses coffee. Do NOT lift the lid or remove
the mug until the brew cycle is complete and the indicator light
turns off. Then, carefully remove the mug and serve.
