- Page 5 Intended use The novacare VarioXX lightweight wheelchair is designed for people who are unable to walk, have ® difficulty walking or are restricted to a seated position for individual use when transporting themselves and others indoors and outdoors. Your wheelchair should be used on safe surfaces where all 4 wheels have sufficient contact with the ground.

Accessories The VarioXX lightweight wheelchairs from novacare gmbh may only be used with the accessories ® intended for this purpose. The accessories are available separately from the novacare gmbh customer ® service. 4. Installation & Utilization Environmental conditions The product does not require any special environmental conditions. - Page 8 B. Folding the wheelchair Risk of injury! When folding the wheelchair, be careful not to pinch and injure your fingers. 1. Stand next to the wheelchair and tilt it towards you so that the opposite side is no longer in contact with the ground.

When adjusting to 47 cm seat height, the anti-tip support rollers must be re- moved. To do this, pull the blue pin out of the anti-tipper support and remove the wheel by pulling it downwards.

- Page 11 J. Adjusting the backrest height Risk of injury! Hand-tighten the screw connections with the appropriate tool. Risk of injury! All tensioning straps must be sufficiently taut and must not sag. To adjust the backrest height, adjust the height of the entire backrest tube.
- Page 12 M. Adjusting the steering wheels Risk of injury! To avoid unintentional tipping of the wheelchair, make sure that the axle adap- ters of the castor wheels are mounted in the same position on both sides. 1. Loosen the wheel nut and bolt on the front wheel fork and pull it out.

Make sure that the armrests are firmly locked before using the wheelchair. Adjusting the armrest height: Press the button on the armrest and raise the pad to the desired height.

Do not use the wheelchair restraint belt as a seat belt! The wheelchair has been tested using a 5-point restraint belt system (wheelchair) and a 3-point seat belt (user).

Maintenance To maintain the function and safety of your wheelchair, regular checks and maintenance by qualified personnel are necessary. Inspection every 8 weeks • Moving parts of the armrest lock for ease of movement and function. • Check brake lever bearings for smooth running and function. -
