3. Product information General product description The novacare Smartmove Wheelchair cushion is designed as a seat cushion for standard wheelchairs or ® conventional seating and is intended for use in outpatient, inpatient, clinical and domestic settings. The system consists of a control unit with a diaphragm pump and a seat pad with six transversely arranged air cells. - Page 4 Smartmove Wheelchair cushion Alternating pressure cushions do not replace the regular, manual change of position of the patient by the nursing staff. Indication Treatment and prevention of pressure ulcers (decubiti) according to the care plan and in compliance with national standards. In the case of patients in pain or with a low pain threshold, the system should only be operated in static mode.

Never put a damaged product into operation. 2. Remove any other cushion from the chair. 3. Take the novacare Smartmove Wheelchair cushion out of the box and ® place it into the chair. The blue cover surface should be facing upwards. - Page 6 Smartmove Wheelchair cushion Cordless use with internal battery Battery mode can only be used when the control unit is disconnected from the mains cable. Connect the mains cable to the control unit and plug the mains plug of the charger into the socket. Please make sure the battery is fully charged (the battery charge indicator LED turns off).
- Page 7 Interruption of power supply (low battery) Check the battery status: LED indicator LOW BATTERY lights up : Battery low / empty. Recharge battery. LED indicator battery symbol lights up : Battery is being charged. LED indicator battery symbol goes out: Battery fully charged.
