    1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS DANGER: This machine was designed to be operated in accordance with the safe operation practices outlined in this manual. As with any type of power equipment, operator error or carelessness can result in serious injury. This machine is capable of amputating fingers, hands, toes, and feet, and can also throw objects with great force.

  • Page 14 4.2 BATTERY Warning:To prevent sparks,fasten the red cable to the positive(+) terminal before you connect black cable.Use the fasteners shown below to install the battery cables. 1) Remove the protective caps from the battery terminal. 2) Fasten the red cable to the positive(+) terminal with the fasteners as shown(Figure 3). 3) Fasten the black cable to the negative(-) terminal with the fasteners as shown(Figure 3).

  • Page 16 Warning: Hang up grass catcher in Rear Collection Mode,otherwise you may get injured by debris or rocks flying from grass pipe. 1) Assemble lower tube of grass catcher to the main frame of grass catcher.   • Page 17 4.6 SIDE DISCHARGE CHUTE(OPTIONAL) To discharge the grass out the side,install the side discharge chute as follows. 1) Remove the fasteners that secure the rear discharge pipe assembly or mulch plate. 2) Take out rear discharge pipe assembly or mulch plate. 3) Mount the side discharge chute on to the same bolts that secured the rear discharge pipe assembly(Figure 9) .

    5. BEFORE USE 5.1 SET-UP Note:Before you start mowing,do the following check first! 1) Check the engine oil. 2) Fill the fuel tank with gasoline. 3) Check the level of the mower housing. 4) Check the air pressure of the tires. 5) Make sure the battery cables are attached.

Replace the oil tank plug / dipstick. 5.4 CHECK THE LEVEL OF THE MOWER HOUSING Make sure the level of cut is still correct.After you mow a short distance,look at the area that was cut.If it’s incorrect,see the instruction on “How to Level the Mower Housing” in the Maintenance section of this instruction book.
  • Page 20 6.2 BLADE ROTATION CONTROL Use the blade rotation control to engage the blade(Figure 12). 1) Before you start the engine,make sure the blade rotation control is in the DISENGAGE position. 2) To rotate the blade,move the blade rotation control forward to lock the blade in the ENGAGE position.
  • Page 21 3) Remove your foot from the clutch/brake pedal and then release the parking brake lever.Make sure the parking brake will hold the unit. 4) To release the parking brake,completely push the clutch/brake pedal forward.The parking brake will automatically release. Waring: Before you leave the operator’s position,move the shift lever to the neutral(N) position.Set the parking brake.Move the blade rotation control to the DISENGAGE position.Stop the engine and remove the ignition key.

Warning: Do not depress the pedal in half way.The driving belt would be worn easily in semi- clutch situation. 6.7 STARTING THE MOWER Waring:The electrical system has an operator presence system that includes a sensor switch for the seat.These components tell the electrical system if the operator is sitting on the seat.The system will stop the engine when the operator leaves the seat.
  • Page 23 5) Clean the underside of the mower chassis.Grass and other debris can keep the mower from working correctly. 6.11 GRASS COLLECTION FUNCTION (FOR RAC6625PR) The mower can be installed with a grass catcher. Please refer to Assembly-Discharge pipe and Grass Catcher for installation.

    7.   • Page 25 2) Check the spark plug, drive brake, lubricate the unit, and clean the air filter once a year. 3) Check the fasteners. Make sure all fasteners are tight. 4) Follow the Maintenance section to keep the unit in good operating condition. WARNING: Before you make an inspection, adjustment, or repair to the unit, disconnect the wire to the spark plug.
  • Page 26 4) Check the blade and the blade adapter according to the instructions for "Inspect Blade". Replace a badly worn or damaged blade with an original equipment blade. See an authorized service center in your area 5) Clean the top and bottom of the mower housing. Remove all the grass and debris 6) Mount the blade and blade adapter on the mandrel.
  • Page 27 11) When you move the blade rotation control to the DISENGAGE position, all movement will stop within seven seconds. If there is movement of the belt or the blades continue to rotate, engage and disengage the blade rotation control five times to remove any excess rubber from a new mower drive belt.
  • Page 28 2) Make sure the parking brake is set and the shift lever is in NEUTRAL (N). Turn the hex nut in a clockwise direction until the rear wheels do not turn when the unit is pushed forward. 3) Release the parking brake and push the unit. If the unit does not roll, turn the hex nut in a counterclockwise direction until the unit rolls.
  • Page 29 as follows(Figure 22). 1) Stop the engine. 2) Disconnect the adjuster nut from the shifter yoke. 3) Make sure the shift lever is in the NEUTRAL(N) position. 4) Push the unit forward. Make sure the gearbox is in NEUTRAL(N). 5) To align the adjuster nut with the hole in the shifter yoke, tum the adjuster nut. 6) Connect the adjuster nut to the shifter yoke.
  • Page 30 7.13 HOW TO CHARGE THE BATTERY If the unit is not running for a long time,the battery power could run out,and the engine can’t be ignited electrically.Follow the instruction to charge: 1) Plug out seat safety switch. 2) Plug out grass catcher switch. 3) Use support rod to support the seat support.
  • Page 31 7.17 HOW TO LEVEL THE MOWER HOUSING If the mower housing is level, the blade will cut easier and the lawn will look better. WARNING: Before you make an inspection, adjustment, or repair to the unit, disconnect the wire to the spark plug. Remove the spark plug wire to prevent the engine from starting by accident. 1) Make sure the unit is on a hard flat surface.
  • Page 32 2) Put the mower drive belt around the stack pulley. Make sure the"V" side of the mower drive belt is against the stack pulley.Also, make sure the mower drive belt is not twisted. 3) Attach the front hanger to the frame support with the hanger rod. Fasten with the fasteners as shown.
  • Page 33 7.22 HOW TO REPLACE THE FUSE If the fuse is blown, the engine will not start. The location of the fuse is next to the battery. Remove the fuse and replace with a automotive fuse. 7.23 HOW TO CLEAN THE MOWER HOUSING WARNING: Before you clean the mower housing,stop the engine and disconnect the wire to the spark plug.

    8. TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM: The engine will not start. 1) Follow the steps in "Starting The Mower" in this book 2) Electric Start Models: Clean the battery terminals. Tighten the cables. 3) Drain the fuel tank. Clean the fuel line. 4) Remove the spark plug.Move the throttle to the SLOW position. Tum the ignition key to the ON position.

PROBLEM: Excessive vibration. 1) Replace the blade. 2) Check for loose engine bolls. 3) Decrease the air pressure in the tires. 4) Adjust the carburetor. 5) Check for a damaged belt or damaged pulley. Replace the damaged parts. PROBLEM: The grass does not discharge correctly.

    10. WARRANTY The manufacturer guarantees the product against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the date of the original purchase. The warranty only applies if the product is for household use. The warranty does not cover breakdowns due to normal wear and tear.
